The room was superbly - very comfortable with amazing view over the golf course. The bathroom was first class with lovely fittings and perfectly clean. We spent a long time I the spa area - the pool, steam room and aroma room were really good - everywhere was lovely and clean. There is a really good service around the pool and we had an amazing cream tea which was really lovely - hot scones fresh clotted cream and a large selection of jams. The breakfast selection was very good with the opportunity to select special dishes for a small extra charge but the standard breakfast comprised of fruit, healthy smoothies, fish, seeds, cereals and the usual full English. The service was very good and the staff extremely welcoming, We will definitely return and probably for longer next time.

Had an enjoyable stay, room spacious and clean although the bathroom would benefit from updating. All staff very pleasant and helpful. Grounds great for letting the children run off steam. Overall no complaints and would return if needed to stay in the area again
Lovely hotel. Great selection for breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. Great swimming pool which was lovely and warm. Only complaint was found a hair on the window ledge. Overall great hotel would stay again.
This hotel does what it says on the tin; we were in the area for a wedding and it was the perfect location and price. The staff were helpful and we were able to check in an hour and a half early. The room was comfortable - though the bed a little small! - and there were nice toiletries in the bathroom.
We stayed in many places on our trip around the UK, but by far, the most wonderful was the Bel and Dragon. The room was lovely, the food exceptional, the staff so kind and thoughtful. The history of the building is amazing. We loved it and will always remember it when we come to the UK again.
Newbury is situated approximately 39 km west of Reading. Vodafone has its headquarters here, and the Newbury Racecourse hosts numerous horse racing events throughout the year. Donnington Castle, a mediaeval relic once owned by Geoffrey Chaucer’s son, is located north of Newbury.
