The room was superbly - very comfortable with amazing view over the golf course. The bathroom was first class with lovely fittings and perfectly clean. We spent a long time I the spa area - the pool, steam room and aroma room were really good - everywhere was lovely and clean. There is a really good service around the pool and we had an amazing cream tea which was really lovely - hot scones fresh clotted cream and a large selection of jams. The breakfast selection was very good with the opportunity to select special dishes for a small extra charge but the standard breakfast comprised of fruit, healthy smoothies, fish, seeds, cereals and the usual full English. The service was very good and the staff extremely welcoming, We will definitely return and probably for longer next time.

Overlooking an 18-hole golf course, this AA Hotel of the Year (2007/2008) has brand new, air-conditioned rooms, suites and a …More
stayed there previously when able to sit in conservatory and watch the wildlife outside. This has now been made into a very narrow restaurant and is not very comfortable .The food was over priced and very average for the price. We ate out on the second night.Ludo the maitre de was at least pleasant on this visit whilst in the past he has been condescending and quite rude. The changes made have ,in our opinion ,made the hotel less appealing.
On arrival in the room the duvet and sheets were damp and we had to change rooms although we had a deluxe room we did not automatically get the wine chocolates etc and had to ask why the were not in the room. Overall compared to my previous visit the staff were moody and unhelpful and I felt a bit stressed check in was a bit unwelcoming not the usual friendly smiley person who would normally greet new guests.
Booked in advance as an hour from Ferry in Portsmouth. Rural location, recently refurbished pub with good food. We had a family room which was spacious and well equipped. Only problem was fitting of back of seat on toilet! Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was superb with great choice. All iclusive price was great value compared with a Premier Inn and we would recommend the White Hart for both its food and accommodation.
Newbury is situated approximately 39 km west of Reading. Vodafone has its headquarters here, and the Newbury Racecourse hosts numerous horse racing events throughout the year. Donnington Castle, a mediaeval relic once owned by Geoffrey Chaucer’s son, is located north of Newbury.
