Convenient Manhattan Location

Posted 28-May-2017
Pros: Clean, comfortable, and friendly.
Cons: A/C was not working when I checked in but this was remedied quickly once I notified the front desk.
Location: Right around the corner from Carnegie Hall. Perfectly situated close to Broadway theaters, Rockefeller Center, Radio City, shopping and Times Square
Charming "Old School" Manhattan hotel. Front desk staff was cheerful and helpful. I visited this location for my birthday trip to NYC and could not be happier with how I was treated by the staff. Was pleased to have been given an upgraded room that was clean, comfortable, and overlooked the Times Square lights. The bathroom was spotless, the water was HOT, and water pressure was great! Although I was in the middle of Manhattan, I slept like a log! There were no street noises and the floor was quiet. I enjoy staying in historic old hotels and the Wellington manages to preserve the best of the old while providing great service required today.

Very clean and updated. The air conditioning did not work, but the temp outside was OK.

Great location but.....

Posted 24-May-2017
The hotel is located in a very centric place near many of the subways and in a good neighborhood. Although I am not one to be picky about a room I do need at least the basics. On my last night at around 10 o'clock in the middle of my shower all the hot water turned off. We were told we could be given a suite or we could wait 15 minutes and it would come back. It was about 1:00 a.m. when my boyfriend decided to shower with COLD water. They also made a habit of turning off the air and opening a window while we weren't there. I was on the 19th floor, but I can't imagine they would do this to a lower level. The rooms are tiny, which didn't bother me just to make everyone aware.

Value not there

Posted 23-May-2017
This was a discount hotel without the discount price. It was older, badly in need of updates and had the appearance of a local Comfort Inn that hadn't been renovated since the 90's. Staff were marginally friendly (housekeeping staff were very nice). There were some dirty towels when we arrived. It is in a great location though. It was next to everything. We paid a lot to stay there without much return for the investment except the location itself.

3 Stops away from Penn Station

Decent price. Tight space, but that's expected in New York. Good restaurants and shops nearby. Broken iron board in the room which was no biggie. Excellent room service.

Adequate hotel but very small room and bathroom!

Be careful if you request a shuttle. Our shuttle never showed up and it was non-refundable. Hotel concierge can not get money back for you!

Central location

Pros: Friendly.
Cons: Wifi.
Location: See above.
Great stay at the Wellington, it's in a good location for Broadway, Central Park, Time Square, Macy's, Bloomindales, Tiffany and many more... The staff are very helpful, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. This was our fourth visit so we must like it, I would recommend to anyone.
