Nice hotel close to Times Square
The best thing about The Wellington is definitely its location; it's only a few blocks from both Times Square and Central Park making it ideal for a short city break because you can reach all the main attractions easily. The hotel itself is nice in an old-fashioned sort of way. Though we booked just a double room, the receptionist upgraded my sister and I to a Queen-bed so we would both have a bit more room. The room itself was actually pretty small, but seeing as we spent all day/evening outside of the hotel, this didn't bother us. One night our air conditioning broke (not ideal in 30 degree + weather), and though I did have to ask reception three times to sort it out, maintenance did eventually come and replace the entire air-con system in our room, which was great and we were incredibly appreciative.
The diner attached to the hotel is also pretty good (definitely recommend the French Toast) however they do get exceptionally busy. On our last morning we were trying to enjoy a leisurely breakfast when the waitress told us we had to leave because her manager was pressuring the staff to make room for new guests.
All in all, both me and my sister really enjoyed our stay at The Wellington and we would definitely stay here again.
