bait and switch

Posted 22-Mar-2017
i paid for a one bedroom suite. they ran out when i arrived so they "upgraded" me to a one bendroom suite with a king size bed in the living room area. basically it was the same as a standard king room with an extra room with another bed.....i cant sleep on two beds, so the "upgrade" was basically a down grade to a standard room. i asked for a price adjustment they said, since you prepaid we cant refund (a bottle of wine would have been nice)...nothing

Room not clean at check in

Posted 22-Mar-2017
Pros: This was our second stay and during our previous stay the staff were great. That's why we expected a better response when something went wrong.
Cons: An apology when something goes wrong as a minimum would be an improvement. Change us to a fully cleaned room would have been appropriate
Location: Fantastic location near Carnegie Hall, walking distance to Central Park and many good restaurants.
When we checked in the bell hop brought us into the room, there was a pizza box on the desk, empty Gatorade bottle on the ledge and used toiletries still on the sink and in the bathtub. The bell hop called down to the front desk and we were instructed to put our bags in the closet so it could be cleaned. There were no apologies or offers to do anything to compensate us. We ended up leaving for a few hours to ensure it was cleaned. After responding to the Expedia How was your check in email, I received a call in our room from a hotel employee in essence questioning the assessment of unclean room. I gave the bellhop's name and details of the situation. The person said okay and ended the call. Once again no apologies.

Nice hotel. Central to Times Square, Central Park

Posted 20-Mar-2017
Stayed in older suite. Loud clanking from steam heat every 30-40 minutes. Kept us up every night. Complained but no offer to live us to another room. Only compensation is reduced rate on next stay. Room was very comfortable and close to everything. Would stay again but will make sure to request renovated room

Inexpensive and decent hotel in NYC

Posted 19-Mar-2017
Pros: Location, reasonable rates.
Cons: A little dated. But was ok if you're looking for a room and a bed/bathroom.
Location: Just used the subway, didn't do much in the area.
Nice hotel, very close to the 57 Street subway station. I suggest getting acquainted with the subway system AHEAD of time as it was a little confusing to me to understand the different lines and destinations. The hotel is close to the 57 Street subway station which will allows you to go pretty much anywhere in Manhattan. I was in the East wing building. The view was just bad, in an atrium but there was some day light coming in. I also didn't care much about the view on that stay. The room was small, basically just big enough to accommodate for a Queen bed. Bedding was comfortable though and I had a good night of sleep. Bathroom was small too but had a sink and a tub still crammed in there. It was clean overall, not sparkling, not clean. Staff was pleasant. Elevators were surprisingly tiny though.

No amenities at all!

Posted 19-Mar-2017
The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is they upgraded my room after trying to put me in a dark box staring at a wall that smelled like mold. They upgraded my room to a room with a decent view. That is the only positive about this hotel. They don't have ice, a coffee maker, a microwave or a fridge. Room service charges $15 for coffee for 3 people. The staff is rude. Low Budget. All I can say....

Convenient location in the heart of the city

Posted 18-Mar-2017
Nice hotel, rooms are like apartments. I had a two night stay with late check out, the second day the room was cold and there is not an option for you to set heat/cool yo upur desire. My check in took a few minutes longer because a mistake was made and someone else was checked in with a name similar to mine, under my reservation. It was noisy inside and outside of the hotel, I had a window view, if you mind noise, don't get a window room. Overall the hotel is good, the food was great, and the location is desirable. I would stay again, but would request a room away from the street noise (as you can also hear concertos from one of the nearby theatres).

Great location!

Our hotel stay was very comfortable with extremely helpful staff. We were only four short blocks away from Central Park and few steps away from a subway entrance. Times Square and Broadway shows are only a short walk with plenty of eating options along the way.
