central location

Posted 27-Mar-2017
Pros: It's location
Cons: The condition of some of the rooms
Location: Nearby, Grand central, Times square, 5th avenue shopping
Staff pleasant, first room allocated was terrible. Cupboard door hanging off, room and shower area looked unclean. Reception staff immediately provided an upgrade room, which was clean and pleasant.

Good location used to be a great hotel not so now

Posted 27-Mar-2017
Have stayed here 7 times but never again Rooms average bathroom poor in desperate need of updating. Poor lighting in room. Constant wait for lifts which were being refurbished although no workmen on sight Overall a hotel trading on its former glory very disappointed and staff only there for tips

The hotel

Posted 25-Mar-2017
Hotel was a lot better than expected as I read previous reviews. I was so glad I stayed with hotel . Breakfast was great ( thanks Juan and the gentleman who served us on our last day , can't remember his name ). Rooms were average but comfortable, would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again. We also enjoyed the filming or Instinct with Alan Cummins ( wish the hotel had given the guests notice of this ) overall it was 9/10 experience and I would definitely stay at the Roosevelt Hotel again .

Would not stay there again if they payed me too.

1. When I arrived the lady at the counter was not very kind. I reserved a room with a king size bed. She told me they only had double bed rooms. Now check in is at 3:00 p.m. I got there at 7:00 p.m. So now I had to wait another 45 minutes for them to get me a room with a king bed. 2. The elevators are very slow. It took forever to get on one. Then they were shooting a movie there and blocked off 2 elevators. So us paying customers had to wait extra long for a elevator to our floor after working 10 hours. 3.The window in the room has a gap where the windows meet. So it was like sleeping on the street. 4. The in room hair dryer has someone else's hair stuck to the handle. When I left after staying for 4 nights the hairs were still there. 5. When the heat for the room was needed the pipes rattled and hissed very loudly all night long.

I enjoyed my stay

Posted 24-Mar-2017
Pros: Very attractive lobby, very elegant
Cons: Fix the lamps so I can use the outlets.
Location: It was a work trip so there was no time for sightseeing. Lots of shopping and a large choice of restaurants.
Stayed for 4 days. The facility is nice and very convenient to where I was working during my stay. I booked a Superior room' so it was a bit larger. The downside was none of the outlets on the lamps worked so I had to hunt for a working outlet. When I checked in the first room I was given was occupied. Ooopppss. They were working on the elevators so I heard complaints on the slowness but it wasn't a big deal for me. For 2 days of my stay a TV pilot was filming in the lobby so that was interesting yet added to the congestion.

It used to be good, not any more

Posted 22-Mar-2017
Pros: Lobby
Cons: Staff needs training and mainly supervision either shape up or ship out
Location: Good location
The registration desk afternoon staff id the worst. They have no respect whatsoever for the client. The magnetic cards had to be reset every day in order to be able to enter the room and they don't even a person dedicated to fix that, as a result you have to stand in line from 5 to 15 minutes everyday in order to enter your room.

Perfect location

Posted 22-Mar-2017
Check in and out was fast and easy. Rooms are in dire need of upgrades. If we were staying for more than one night I would not recommend this place.

Absolutely perfect location to go everywhere

Posted 22-Mar-2017
Pros: Position, size of the room.
Cons: Hotel fee is unacceptable
Location: Time Squares, Bryant Park, 5th Avenue, Grand Central.
My girlfriend and I stayed in a lovely King Suite for 4 nights during St Patrick's celebration weekend. Check in and out were speedy, no problems like some other places get details wrong, everything was fine here. Service was amiable although i got a few starters I assume, first weeks in hospitality so i understood things were new to them and it'd be shaky at the start. Shower was good, bed was more than ideal and we relaxed a lot.... I would recommend this hotel for anyone that is looking for a very central place in Midtown Manhattan.
