Nice central hotel with an old style charm

Posted 24-May-2017
Staff were friendly and helpful. Bad reviews I have read on water temperature and wait for lifts, I have not experienced this. Hotel is close to Grand Central and Fifth Avenue. Only disliked the so called Resort Fee and not having any coffee making facilities.

Ok hotel but could be so much better

Posted 23-May-2017
The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's far enough out of Times Square to be quieter but close enough to walk to all the action. The rest of the hotel is average. Our room was large but in real need of a slick of paint and a good clean. It looks tired and dated. We didn't try the food the prices put us off. You can est better food elsewhere for a better price.

Beautiful lobby!

Walkable to the theater district & Grand Central. The elevators are very slow & we didn't have coffee in our room. Otherwise comfortable!

Terrible Hotel

Posted 20-May-2017
Room had an awful smell that was over-whelming when you walked in the room. Also there was no hot water no matter what time of the day i needed a shower or to use the sink.

Very very bad experience for hotel and staff

Posted 19-May-2017
Hotel staff is too rude they are totally non capable and ruthless will never stay again there are much better options in New York City. This was my second time to stay. Waiting for elevator is also too long. Lobby is also lousy I hope they will do some. Eternal for that

Great location / Very nice staff / Tiny room

Posted 19-May-2017
The hotel is in a great location for mid town where you can walk to many attractions. Close to Grand Central so we took the subway wherever we needed to go. Hotel and decor was older but very clean and nice. The only issue I had was I didn't have hot water one morning. But they fixed it after an hour when I called. The price was a little high for a small room with one queen and a tiny bathroom but you're paying for location. Plus it was a graduation week in NY. Over all it was a good hotel and would stay again.

Grand old central hotel

Posted 19-May-2017
The hotel boasts a grand entrance lobby and is a stone's throw from Grand Central Station so ideally located for city centre attractions and theatres. We had a "cozy King room" which was clean and quiet. We had to ask for coffee making facilities in the room and they were provided within 30mins. Some reception staff were very welcoming and friendly, others not so much (the New York manner?), house-keeping and lobby staff were great. Bathroom is a little small but has everything you need and expect! Vending machine didn't work on our floor. We would recommend this to friends to stay.

Not a 4 star hotel

Posted 19-May-2017
Noisy A/C with no control panel, dusty old room, carpets patched with tape.

the hotel is in a great location close to public transportation and all attractions. hotel is older but it adds to the appeal with a lot of character. the staff was great and room was clean. the bed was comfortable and we would definitely stay there again.

Nice staff and great location

Nice staff, great location. Very dated, and small room. Also not a whole lot of available outlets.
