For The Budget Minded, Clean, Safe, and Central
Not a hotel for one who wishes to luxuriate, but many pluses to consider. For those who want a clean, safe, and--surprisingly-- quiet space (my room was at the back side of the building, away from 45th St), this has all the basics covered. My room had a spacious bathroom, no tub, very nice wall mounted widescreen television. Very comfortable bed, excellent linens and towels. Good lighting for reading in bed. Alas, there was no chair or desk, and though there was a window, there was no view--just the wall of an adjacent building. Some of the fixtures are showing wear and tear, but all worked well. I didn't bother with the fridge, ironing board, etc. The young staff was cheerful and helpful. Very good value for New York City!
