Great location ... but a bit over rated & priced
This is the 3rd time we've stayed there. WE like it - a lot. AS always we especially love the location right off of Times Square. Walking distance to all key mid-town sites & transportation.
That said ... we've noticed things are getting a bit threadbare & in need of freshening up. Some wallpaper tears near the elevators, tile in bathroom needs refreshment as does some wallpaper wear there, etc. Nothing really nasty at all.But noticeable. Beds/linens/furniture, etc. were all great. Net/net ... it's positioned & priced as a four star but it's more like a 3/3.5 star. Mgt. needs to invest in updating/upgrading facilities or else adjust the price downwards.
WiFi is now free ( it wasn't a few years ago), and they have nice/free access to print boarding passes on the 2nd floor.
The Red Flame Diner on 44th St. ( just east of 6th Ave. - a short walk ) is a great, reasonably priced place for breakfast vs. getting it at the hotel. The Diner is full of "locals" ( vs. tourists) so it's great place to people watch & see all the wonderful diversity of NYC.
