Calm oasis in Midtown Manhattan

Posted 14-Apr-2017
Pros: Everything.
Location: It is close to Broadway theaters and excellent restaurants, shopping, and midtown sights.
This hotel has the most comfortable and quiet lobby I have been in. The rooms are large and well furnished, the staff is professional helpful and friendly. This is now my favorite hotel in Manhattan.

short and sweet

Posted 09-Apr-2017
Pros: Quietness, polite staff, candle light in the evening in the lounge
Cons: Would like to have had a separate top sheet on the beds. One of the beds was tilted.
This was a short visit to NY. Basically a day and half. The hotel is convenient to Broadway. Saw two plays. Clean, comfortable, pleasant and polite staff. The food we ordered from room service, in my opinion, was over priced. and nothing exceptional. The hotel is very convenient to shopping, restaurants, and a short ride to Central Park. We enjoyed our very busy visit.

Excellent hotel

Posted 07-Apr-2017
Excellent location so Close to everything and excellent service! Just a little disappointed because it's a VIP hotel of Expedia and no VIP amenities were offered to us, I asked for an upgrade and nothing better was available for me, I send instructions to hotel through Expedia that I was celebrating anniversary and my birthday that weekend I was there but didn't get anything, at least a Happy birthday note in my room would've been nice! Otherwise, it's a perfect Hotel!

NYC stay at The Sofitel

Posted 04-Apr-2017
Pros: Location, staff, comfort, etc.
Cons: The rooms don't get as cold as we like, but it's sufficient.
Location: Located near Time Square, Broadway, and tons of shopping and places to eat.
We frequent NYC annually and this is the place we stay each time. Love the hotel, staff, location, and comfort of the hotel. This is the place for us in NYC, and we'll continue staying here as long as we visit.

Great Location

Excellent hotel. Staff, facilities and room are all top notch. Very friendly, helpful staff who were very accommodating to inexperienced New York visitors. Location was perfect for accessing Broadway and Times Square. Would definitely stay again.

Pros: The staff was wonderful
Cons: The coffee which was so kindly provided downstairs in the mornings was way too strong!

Nice and clean hotel in a good location.

Posted 01-Apr-2017
Pros: The bed was comfortable, and clean.
Location: The location is close to many things to do around time square, and 5th Ave. So thumbs up for the location.
The hotel was clean and had very friendly staff at the front door. Don't be fooled by the photos of the balcony or terrace that's only accessible if you're staying in a suite. Also even though we were at 16th floor the view was bad, so don't expect nice city view. I have one complain though. I was there at 8 am, and check in was at 3 pm, so I requested an early check in if possible. The staff told me that it's not possible and I have to come back at 3 pm. So I re-tried at 2 pm and the response was the same. When I went back at 3 pm they told me the room is not ready and I had to wait until 3:35 pm even though I saw other people being checked in starting 2 pm.

Take a pass on this one.

We booked a suite for 6 nights recently and on the last night we booked car service to the airport (JFK) for $159. I asked specifically if it would be an SUV as we had 3 persons and 2 very large suitcases. She said don't worry it will fit and I assumed it would be a Limo since it was $159. They next morning, we showed up at the appointed time and waited over 30 min for the car as the 2 persons at the concierge desk apologized and assured us that they would waive half of the charge as the driver was so late. When he did show up in a regular sedan, our luggage did not fit in the trunk and one suitcase had to be squeezed into the main cabin. Certainly not what we had expected. Of course we did not receive any kind of partial refund as they had promised and when I called and left messages for the manager, she did not even have the courtesy to call back. There are so many nice hotels in the area, several on the same block. Don't bother with this one, the number of stars does not reflect the level of service or lack there of that you receive.
