Missing clothes and the smell of marijuana
I was pleased with the location in which is very close Times Square. Hotel room was relatively clean and neat. My first impression with the hotel was that it was fine. However, it went downhill from the second day of our stay. When my husband and I went back to the room, I couldn't find my exercise shirt, a white Under Armor T shirt I wore that morning. It was missing. My husband reported this to the hotel manager, and he told us he would check with the laundry cleaning company to see if the shirt was among the bedding/towels and the housekeeper accidentally took it. I gave him the benefit of doubt since it was a white shirt. The next day, I found my pajamas were missing, and the while packing to check out I realized my hoodie was gone. The hotel admitted the housekeeper and us were only people who accessed the room, but the manager said he could do nothing about the loss of my hoodies. The hotel only offered to compensate with 4 nights resort fee, which was about $100. BTW, the resort fee is a joke because this is no resort. On top of this, we had to suffer from the strong smell of marijuana from the hallway every night that kept us awake. The housekeep didn't understand English well. When we asked an extra blanket, she left four sheets of bedding on the bed.

We are very sorry about the items that were not able to be located. We did our very best to find the articles of clothing but they were nowhere to be found. Our linen provider did not find any articles of clothing sent from our hotel either.
We would kindly request that you do reconsider staying with Hotel Mela in the future and we will ensure your next experience with us is far different and much improved, than your last.
