Trendy and tiny
This hotel is decorated in a very current style. The room appeared to have been recently updated, the fixtures have a very clean, modern look to them. Finishes are nice. But, the room we had was so tiny, there wasn't enough space for the luggage we brought. Granted, we had a lot of luggage because we're starting for a month trip in cold climates. But, things would have been cramped if there had been no luggage at all.
The "closet" was a cabinet that was filled with a safe, a shelf, and an ironing board, I think. There was only about 4" of rod upon which a full length coat could hang. The rest of the rod, perhaps another 16", could accommodate nothing longer than a shirt.
My husband said his side of the bed was so tight, he had to maneuver out of bed, and he's skinny and athletic. It was claustrophobic.
Not enough light, either.
Staff was very gracious.

Hello traveller, - Thank you for sharing some feedback regarding your recent stay at Hotel Hugo. We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with the size of your room. Unfortunately, all NYC boutique hotels are space restricted. We feel, and so do many of our guests that our beautiful decor makes up for the lack of space. On another note, we would like to thank you for the lovely compliments regarding our staff members and the cleanliness of our rooms. Again, thanks for the feedback. :-)
