Nice hotel with quick access.

Posted 18-Jul-2017
Shopping and a variety of restaurants were in the immediate area. Transportation via the subway and buses was quickly accessible. I couldn't have chosen a better area, hotel or responsive staff.

Comfy hotel close to the action.

Posted 17-Jul-2017
We arrived at the hotel at 1130 and we were able to access our room right away. The room was small and noisy due to construction near by but adequate. After a quick nap we realized there was a leak somewhere in the room that was making the carpet wet and the shower was not draining properly. We contacted the front desk and we're quickly moved to another room (an upgrade with a king size bed). The hotel is located in close proximity to many restaurants and is in walking distance to Grand Central Station, Time Square, Madison Square and Pen Station. As I had mentioned there was construction going on next door so when booking your room try to get a room that's on the 5th floor or higher. If your plane arrives in Newark NJ a $13 Amtrak ride will get you to Manhattan. Big thanks to Jamal for his care and attention. Would recommend the Hotel Chandler.

Great hotel with character

Well located midtown. Great looking hotel, inside and out. Staff very friendly. Breakfast good but pricey, we ate at Tasty Cafe around corner (very good), but NYC hotels realise people eat out.

Excellent place to stay in mid-town

Posted 07-Jul-2017
Pros: Location, condition, staff...all great.
Cons: Wouldn't change a thing.
Location: Good location, two blocks from Herald Square and easy access to many major subway lines.
Overall, the hotel was clean and bright and well kept, and the staff, without exception, were friendly and accommodating.

Pros: Location off Madison Ave is awesome
Location: Whatever you want to do you can. Easy access to subway or UBER.
Excellent hotel that was comfortable and roomy by NYC standards. Staff was excellent and room was clean every day. Nice amenities that you expect for more money.

Outdated, slightly shabby but good location

Posted 29-Jun-2017
Pros: Good location. Friendly enough staff.
Cons: Shabby and outdated. Not clean.
Location: Good location. Walked a lot of places.
The pictures on the hotel's website are incredibly deceiving! It is outdated, quite shabby and in need of renovation. The walls in my shower were dirty and I was given towels with yellow stains on them. I didn't feel that comfortable being in the "bathroom" (which you can barely move around in) without wearing sandals or covering my feet in some way. It's generally a small, depressing looking room and the wallpaper was also coming off. The gym is absolutely tiny, the fitness equipment was dirty and you can barely move around in it. The hotel is however in an excellent location and the staff were friendly enough. I won't be staying there again.

Convenient location

Posted 28-Jun-2017
Our hotel room was a good size and Perfect for a weekend getaway. We asked for a quiet room and were given just that. The bathroom was a tad small but it didn't take away from our experience- if I would improve anything, it would be to replace the tired carpet in the room. All in all - we would return to this location.

Pleasant, but aging

Posted 28-Jun-2017
The hotel is well-located, and almost all staff friendly. But "boutique" means old, small rooms, very modest and dark lobby. Not in the "luxury" category; price is surely not appropriate for the accommodations. I probably would not choose this hotel again.
