Loved it, will return again!

Posted 20-Feb-2017
Well-appointed hotel in Murray Hill, very close to Flatiron district (10 min walk to Flatiron building). Staff was very nice and attentive. After I made my reservation, I found out there was construction going on on one side of building. I emailed hotel requesting to be on opposite side of hotel, away from elevator. They promptly replied that they would try to accommodate me, and when I checked in, they did! I slept like a baby and didn't hear a thing! The other thing I loved was the bathroom -- high quality toiletries, absorbant thick towels and luxe bathrobes!

Convenient but some issues

Posted 19-Feb-2017
Have stayed here several times and generally a very service oriented boutique hotel. However a nice thing that they had also become a source of annoyance. They have coffee out 24hours /per day and it is strong but they only put out regular coffee even at night . They also only put out skim milk. I have raised the these coffee issues several times and s they are still issues. Also on this stay the toliet ran most of the night - first time for that. If the issues are not addressed by the next time I book there it will be my last stay - lots of options in the City

Disappointing

Posted 14-Feb-2017
Pros: Safe neighborhood
Cons: Rooms are tiny. There's nothing special about this hotel.
Location: Located near Grand Central station. It's a very quiet neighborhood (by New York standards). That would be the reason to stay here.
If you're a frequent user of Expedia you know that there many times that you're completely delighted by surprised hotel selection. This is an unbranded hotel that has a very high star rating. I was very disappointed with the quality of the room. In fairness the hotel has a great but a misleading location. Expedia has this in Union Square. It's really located just south of Grand Central Station. If you get a great deal take what you get. If you're out of town just realize you get a very small room. You not going to be amazed by the hotels rating.

Boutique Hotel in the heart of Manhattan

Posted 09-Feb-2017
Pros: The Staff, The look and the hospitality.
Cons: nothing
Location: Right in Manhattan one block from the empire state building. Times sq is a 10 min walk and an amazing eatery called bread and butter!
When arriving at the Hotel, I was a bit weary of the scaffolding outside but was greeted with such great customer service and charm by Adonis the bellman, which then availed the grandeur and beauty of the hotel. we were an hour and a half too early to check in but got to wait out in the bar, which we were more than happy to do. The barman was amazing and even specialised cocktails for me, to suit my pallet. An off duty worker Margaret was also there who chatted with us, making us feel so welcome. Martha the receptionist on arrival was amazing and so so helpful. The staff here are a real testament to the hotel. The room was beautiful, the shower was huge and just the right power. They leave little chocolates on your pillow at night too :) we had a small issue with our heater on the first night, but the desk is manned 24/7. This was sorted in next to no time at all. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff at hotel

Posted 04-Feb-2017
Pros: Staff were very helpful. Our room was a decent size, free wifi, iron & ironing board and hairdryer were provided. Free tea and coffee downstairs.
Cons: Just room service, we stayed in one day and hoped it could be cleaned while we went out but it wasn't.
Location: JFK airport about 40 mins to hotel, restaurants, attractions and shops within walking distance.
We stayed for one week at Hotel Chandler. It was in a great location, nearby to Metro, Empire State Building and restaurants. Saw all the main attractions of New York. Loved the food although we did overeat!! Weather was surprisingly ok although you do still need your coat/hat/gloves as it can get quite windy. Enjoyed our time here in the big apple.

A/C was out of order and additional charges

Posted 02-Feb-2017
We found the A/C in the room was not working so we had somewhat cold night and they told me that my ford escape was a large car so they charged additional 10$ to their valet parking prices.

Good value, slow elevators, poorly designed shower

Posted 17-Jan-2017
Pros: See above
Cons: Elevators and showers
Location: Good places to eat and carry out nearby. Transportation nearby. Main stations walkable.
Two negatives give the wrong impression. The rooms are well out-fitted, but smallish (it's NYC!). Terrific "continental" breakfast with granola, lots of fresh fruit, juice, coffee with refills, and freshly baked pastries = good value. Very helpful staff. Good location. All considered, highly recommended.
