Nice hotel close to theaters
Was hesitant to stay at the Hampton Inn because the local establishment is not so nice. But we read the reviews and thought we would give it a chance and I am glad we did! The hotel is situated just steps away from the theaters; we were going in to see Jersey Boys before it closed. We were literally several hundred feet from the theater.
Check in was a breeze; the room was spacious, clean and quiet. I had asked for a quiet room, in that I am a light sleeper. Although it is never quite in the Big Apple, they gave us a room in the rear of the building and I slept very well.
There is complimentary tea and coffe in the lobby as well as a small gift shop that also had necessities and some food items.
We asked at the front desk for a recommendation for some place reasonable to grab a bite; we weren't very hungry, but needed something. They recommended the Cosmic Diner that was across the street. The food was great and the prices were very reasonable. They even revised one of their dinner specials for me, on my request.
Check out was also a breeze; the invoice was slipped under the door and we simply handed over the room keys and went on our way.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is coming into the city, especially if you are coming to the theater district.
