Grand Club room at Grand Hyatt
Arrived at around 3.45 pm.The separate Grand Club was not open but fortunately the other check in line was short. Our room was on the 16th floor with the window looking out on the Chrysler building.Room was big.We had a large walk in wardrobe, sofa, safe, iron and king bed.The room was great although looking a bit worn in places and certainly could have done with better cleaning.Quite a few places were dusty and the floor needed a better clean
The Grand Club Lounge was on the same floor and we used this everyday.Your room key provided entry.Breakfast was served from 6.30am during the week.It had said continental but there was always scrambled eggs, bacon a few times and turkey sausage available. There was cereal, toast, bagels, fresh fruit, pastries, yoghurt, cold meats, cheeses etc.
During the day tea and coffee was always available along with cookies, fruit and yoghurt coated raisins. There were latte/espresso machines as well as regular coffee. The bottled water, soft drinks and juice were in chilled cabinets so you just helped yourself
From around 5pm there was food available with usually 1 hot dish. There was a selection of bread, cheeses and salad. The hot dish varied from pasta, chicken skewers. You could get beer and wine using the "honor" bar where you helped yourself but filled in a slip of paper to put in the box.It was $6 for a bottle of beer and $7 for wine. This was cheaper than the downtairs bar where the beer was $9!.
