Thanksgiving week in NYC

Posted 30-Nov-2016
Pros: Location
Location: Times Square and subway station was on the corner
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The beds were very comfortable with comfy pillows as well. The location was fantastic...in the Garment District and just a few blocks from Times Square and the Theater District. For the time of year that we were there you cannot beat the price. Our room was a total of 800.00 with tax and everything for 4 nights! Pretty incredible. The only negative that I can mention is that the window in our room did not have a great seal around the edge and it was quite windy the first night and our blind was literally blowing. Other than that.....I give this hotel a 4+ rating.

Lovely spacious clean hotel

Posted 23-Nov-2016
We were very pleased with this hotel, considering how close we were to times square, this was perfect... we were 20 floors up, but could still hear the traffic from the road outside from 4am the yellow cabs were beeping away... but to be fair im not sure theres many hotels midtown that can offer quite and solitude from the outside world of manhattan. Rooms were spacious and clean.. Bar was nice and the staff were all freindly and informative.. would definately re visit.. Perfect location 10 mins walk into times square, 15 to 20 mins walk to empire state and rockafellas. Some nice bars and restraunts nearby.

Horrible customer service during issue

Posted 16-Nov-2016
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Manager, room heating
The room I received had a heating unit that did not work (that being with 40 degrees outside). I only discovered this late evening when I got back to the room. At that time they could not get engineering (which I understand) but they did not have any space heaters (which I do not) so they gave me an extra blanket. I have stayed on and off at this hotel the last 2 years and this is the 3rd or 4th time I have an issue with the heating. So this is not a freak occurrence. While I was upset (and cold) when I raised the issue with some kind of manager next day she basically started arguing with me telling me that she needs to investigate if it was an issue with the heater or whether it was just how the building or set of floors was setup. Also that they supposedly do have heaters but probably maintenance/front desk did not know about it? I am not big on apologies or refunds I definitely draw the line at actually being told that basically I was wrong ... Ultimately I was still very cold for an entire night despite paying a pretty high price. She did say she will follow up with me so I was willing to give them credit if at least the follow-up was better but as you may imagine nothing happened afterwards.

Close to Theater District

Posted 12-Nov-2016
Location: Main bus portal is cross the street. Theater in walking distance.
Room was clean and quiet. Get a room ending in 01 for a good view north.

괜찮은 호텔!

Posted 07-Nov-2016
Pros: 위치와 시설
Cons:

No boutique hotel.

Posted 06-Nov-2016
Pros: The staff were helpful and accommodating.
Cons: See above.
Location: Location is great for the theatre district and its midtown, not far from Timesquare. Not great at all for restaurants and eating out.
I was under the impression this was a boutique hotel in an up and coming area of New York. How very disappointed we were! The queen rooms are extremely small with poor lighting and a view of the hotel and the residents next door. I'm sure we could have held hands across the way! If you are considering a stay here I would book a king room at least. The location of this hotel is not great at all in terms of finding good places to eat and the area outside was a construction site, very dirty and very unappealing to the point we felt sad to return in the evening. Sadly not the experience we were looking forward to.

Avoid This Hotel at All Costs!

Posted 04-Nov-2016
Cons: Cancelled reservation without any contact. Manager refused to step out of office to address issue and receptionist was lost
Location: If you want to stay in this area, go next door to Marriott or Staybridge Suites. Extremely professional and they will treat you as you should be
I pre-booked this hotel through Expedia based upon an online review for most comfortable beds in NYC. I was unable to rate the room or bed however, since the hotel cancelled my reservation, left me stranded without notice and then re-sold the room! I arrived in NYC at 6 PM and wet straight to the hotel to check in. The lobby was full of loud guests and the receptionist (young man with a hair-bun) seemed a bit lost. When he indicated that I did not have a reservation, I handed him the Expedia confirmation stating otherwise. He became quite nervous and went into a back room to speak with the manager. Upon returning the receptionist indicated that they had tried to run a pre-approval on my credit card and that the card was denied so they cancelled my reservation. I asked why I had not been contacted and he indicated that they "TRIED TO GET A HOLD OF EXPEDIA BUT NO ONE WOULD ANSWER". Knowing that hotels have a direct line to Expedia, I said "let's give them a call right now", and he again ran into the back room. Expedia confirmed that they had not been contacted by Distrikt and that the hotel did indeed have a confirmed reservation as well as a direct line for contact should an issue arise. The receptionist then claimed that an e-mail was sent to Expedia but Expedia failed to give them a reply. Obviously, this was a string of excuses for over-booking and leaving me stranded without a room. THE MANAGER NEVER CAME OUT TO SPEAK WITH ME. Expedia took care of me as always
