The place was clean, good value for the money. And the car can be parked outside where your room is.

Fantastic person on reception when checking in and out. Great comfortable bed. Bathroom is coming due for refurbishment but shower was good (over bath). Room had aircon which was good. Very good breakfast options. Toilet flush was not brilliant but we survived 😀 All in all we will stay again.

The motel was in a convenient location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately there was no air conditioning or fan as the nights were quite warm. There is a small fridge and kettle but unfortunately no other kitchenette facilities which is a little unusual for NZ motels.

Thanks Toby for your review. We are glad you had a good stay and found our team helpful and friendly. We are working at adding AC units to our rooms at present. It looks like you booked a Standard Studio which is a hotel-style room as described on the website and online sites. We do have a number of motel-style rooms with kitchen facilities also for your reference for future stays with us.

Family Getaway
We had an amazing time. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The rooms had generous sized beds which were so comfy and an incredible view of Mt Taranaki with the ocean to the other side. There’s a decent sized pool and spa available for us which our little one loved. Can’t wait to stay again.

Great big room, mostly very clean (toilet roll holders were very caked with dust but everything else was spotless). Great location close to the beach and city. Quiet and nice views at the rear of the hotel although there was a lot of passing traffic but I think that was probably due to it being so close to Christmas. The rear rooms are very close to the road but I expect usually it's quiet as it's just a little cul-de-sac. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a bit tired but they're in the process of renovating. Very happy with this accommodation.

Handy place to stay.
I like the facilities. It has a good location close to everything. It has a great Bar and Restaurant. The staff were excellent, very helpful. The only little problem was the bathroom didn't have a fun to deal with the steam.

I liked the facilities, it had an excellent bar and Restaurant area. The staff were excellent and Helpful. The only minus was a rather tired bathroom with no fan to deal with the steam which fogged up the mirrors for quite some time. Otherwise couldn’t fault the place and would stay there again.

Quiet, beachside location with great service.
The motel staff were very welcoming and friendly and the restaurant service was excellent. The food was also very good, though a bit on the expensive side. We particularly loved the location, as it was very quiet and near the beach. Great to have such a nice motel to bring our canine companion to.

Disappointing stay
Friendly staff at check-in. We had booked our wee dog in with us and had an extra charge for him. However the hallway to our room had painters plastic on the floor - and the room we had was very substandard- tired: ripped chairs, broken bathroom tiles, cracked bathroom basin, tatty furnishings and uncomfortable bed. Very disappointing.

Hi Donna, thanks for your feedback. Yes our Standard rooms are being renovated at the moment, hence the carpet protector in the hallway. The furniture will be replaced also during this renovation. As pointed out in messages we suggested an Executive room might be more suitable for you and your dog, however the (ground floor for your dog) Standard room was your choice. The Executive rooms are renovated with new furniture, so maybe they would be a better fit for your next visit. Kind regards, Auto Lodge

Room was a decent size and clean. Comfortable beds. Plenty of Modern equipment to use in the room - Stovetop, Microwave, Dish Drawer etc. Modern bathroom. Poor reception on most TV channels. In-wall TV's set-up in strange off-set location. Couches dated and not comfy. Shower not brilliant. Indoor Pool was too cold for kids to use. $259 for 1 night - two adults and 2 kids was reasonable comparatively. Good location for our purposes between town and Waiwhakaiho.

The pool struggled a bit last week to keep up when the outside temperature dropped - it normally sits around 26 to 29 degrees.
