Horrible experience

Posted 02-Dec-2016
We checked in on Friday, Nov 25 around 3:30pm. We reserved a room with 2 queen beds. They claimed that they are fully booked and only have rooms with a king bed available. They said Expedia sent a request for a king bed only. I showed them my email that says 2 queen beds. They said well on our system it showed one king bed. We called Expedia. Expedia said your reservation is for 2 queen beds. All of a sudden Blake Hotel had a room with 2 queen beds available. We didn't even park our car in their self parking garage or valet but they charged us for parking 2 nights.

Nice hotel but don't stay on the 2nd floor

Posted 29-Nov-2016
Stayed on the 2nd floor and could hear the street cars all night also cars passing by with the music real loud. Went on a holiday weekend so a lot of partying in the streets. The hotel itself and the staff were very nice and good location to a lot of things if you don't mind walking a bit but there is public transportation close by. Parking not the greatest but it's about the same at all the hotels. The cafe downstairs has great food and the staff there was extremely nice. would stay there again just on a higher floor.

It was a very short stay.

Posted 29-Nov-2016
Pros: Clean everything.
Cons: Parking sucks.
Location: Not sure, didn't stay that long
I just needed a place for the night. Booked the room and was pleasantly surprised at how nice everything turned out.

At Check-in I should've left

Posted 28-Nov-2016
Pros: The proximity to the superdome.
Cons: A lot.
I booked the room on Friday morning. I made it to the hotel on Friday night and they could not find my reservation. I took them over 30 minutes to locate and enter me into the system. During my check-in, there was a family checking out just having arrived. The staff kept mumbling stuff under there breath toward the guest. I felt that was very unprofessional with me standing. After, waiting I was informed that valet was upcharged for our visit because of the Bayou Classic. On top of paying $51 per day for valet, it still took 30-45 minutes to get my car. Why charge more and take even longer than normal to get a car. I requested a king bed. However, the room was a queen single bed. I was informed there were cots for rent. However, they out when I needed one. Finally, the cleaning lady did not clean the entire room. The bed refreshed along with towels; trash was left in the room.

Pros: Reasonable price
In my lower floor room there was some noise from the trolley on the street.

Ok hotel

Posted 25-Nov-2016
First room was too small for two beds. The wall socket went out so the fridge microwave and lamp did not work. We were switched to a different room on the same floor. It was larger and more comfortable. The manager was very helpful but the rest of the staff wasn't that much knowledgeable of which rooms were available. The parking was bad and we had to pay $38 a night for valet. Not enough amenities for the price.

Cozy with European Charm

Posted 16-Nov-2016
Location: Right on the Saint Charles street car line and a 10 - 15 minute walk to the riverfront, the French Quarter, the convention center. Perfect!
I stayed here recently for three nights and it will now be my go-to hotel in NOLA. The staff is young and friendly and efficient. It's small enough that you remember the people at the desk and they remember you. The lobby is designed for guests to actually spend time there. Comfy furniture and free cold lemon-infused water. The room always got cleaned while I was out - even though my schedule was really erratic. Somehow, they knew to get in and out between my comings and goings. Only drawback was street noise - even on the 7th floor. But not a big deal for me. I'm an urban creature.

Pros: Great location.
Cons: The rooms are a little small.
Location: Street car runs right outside the front door. Still close to everything but it's not quite as crowded over there. Close to the Civic theater.
Overall my stay was good. The staff was friendly and recommended parking. Hotel rooms were a bit small but they had enough space.

Good location

Posted 25-Oct-2016
It is a decent hotel in a fairly good location. The staff were friendly, though there seemed to be some odd level of confusion about available rooms. The hotel is close to the Federal buildings, warehouse district and is on the street car line providing easy access to the major tourist attractions. There are several good restaurants in the area offering food in many price ranges. The room was clean and comfortable, but a little noisy at times. I would stay here again
