    We celebrated our 13th anniversary in New Bern, NC and stayed in the Josephine room at Meadows Inn. The trip was wonderful and the Meadows Inn, a dream. We arrived midday on Saturday and were graciously allowed to check in upon arrival. Betty provided a map and some general inforation about New Bern, then showed us our room, the Josephine, which was exactly as I imagined. Spacious and comfortable, with simple timeless decor. In the afternoon, we had lunch at The Chelsea, then searched for treasure at Franklin's Antique Mall, Dirty Barn Vintage, Lulu, and Charlie C's. All the while we enjoyed the beauty of downtown and its history. In the evening, we popped into the Wienerhous (next door) to grab a brew and catch the scores of the ballgames, followed by a lovely evening downtown and waterfront walk, dinner at Morgan's Tavern and cocktails at Prohibition. The trip was wonderful, and throughout it, Meadows Inn was our home, and it felt that way. The house is lovely and the hosts are wonderful. The breakfast and coffee were outstanding and we cannot wait to come back for another New Bern night. Thank you Meadows Inn for such a memorable stay. …
