Close to the beach, that's it
I read negative reviews before I booked the hotel, but decided to give it a try. I'll start from check in, which was slow and took 45 minutes. We were given no iinstructions or info about meals, etc. The rooms are VERY dated, Ive stayed a lot of places and this by far is the dirtiest and most worn out room I've been in. We had no top sheets, only a dirty comforter as blankets. There were no washcloths available for the room until the 4th night of our stay. We had a room on the bottom floor with a sliding door that led to the pool. The door was impossible to open and the curtains were moldy. The air conditioning was broken the first 3 nights of our stay (the entire resort) and it was 95 degrees. We were offered a refund, but we had no idea where we would go and since I'd booked through Expedia I wouldn't receive an instant refund, and the staff told me it would mess up our flights since they were booked as a package. The food is adequate, a good selection of salad bar items, but nothing special for the main dishes and it was practically the same each night. Desserts were mostly what tasted like frozen cakes. Service is mediocre at best at the buffet. The midnight buffet is simply leftovers from lunch and dinner. The specialty restaurants are only open on certain days and the menu is limited. With all of that having been said, we were on the bottom floor and literally steps from the beach- awesome location. Overall, I'd rate the hotel as a 2 star at best, its location 5 star.
