Very close to Nara Park, with parking! Staff's English was much better than most other merchants in Japan. No frills, clean place to stay. You're not going to Nara to sit in a hotel room!

the staff is amazing and help alot during the stay. the only bad point is that limited late check in time which ended 2330 hrs. maybe the hotel can consider self check in with putting the key in the locker for tenant to retrieve for late check in.

So the place gets 1 star for location and it’s right by the park. 1 star for price as it’s super affordable. And 1 star for size. The deluxe twin sweets are huge and fit our family of 4 well. We had 5 people traveling and opted for 2 deluxe rooms. The problem is the bathrooms have a terrible smell. If you shut all the doors and turn on the ac and the provided air purifier you won’t smell it but once you are in the bathroom it’s terrible. It looks like it’s coming from the pipes? The room itself is great. 2 twin beds and a sofa bed. We had enough space to set up a portable crib and with a slumber pod. I would say this is great for 1 night. Fairly clean and super central. For our 1 night it was perfect. There are no amenities and wifi doesn’t work all the time. Plus the charge for extra pillows 100yen and wouldn’t give us any extra towels.

You are close to the temples. 7 mon walk. There is literally no traffic in this area. It is pedestrian friendly. Deer are everywhere

Great attention from the staff, very helpful and kind. The hotel is located near Nara Park, an ideal location. The rooms are ok, nothing too fancy, but for the price is very good.

A true treasure
We loved staying here. The hotel was beautifully clean, there was a communal kitchen which was great with a hot plate, microwave, and fridge. Staff were charming. The location was perfect. It was a pleasure staying there.
Our room was comfortable, and spotlessly clean
This was the hotel right next to the park
Great shower, and a deep bath, but intended to be used Japanese style So wash first, shower off soap, then have a soak.

4Th floor has a really loud fan. If you turn it off in spring summer then it gets hot and humid fast. But if it's on, it makes this blaring noise every hour or two. Could not sleep ALL NIGHT.

Thank you for your comment. We have ventilation fans & air conditioners in all rooms and our guests are able to operate them respectively. When we checked them later, we could not find any problems with them. Then we will appreciate it very much if you could inform us of the specific place of fan.

Loved the location because the park is very close. Its at the end of the main road so it's jice and quiet, but close to shopping and food

Good value stay in great location
Budget room with a futon on a bamboo mat floor. Surpringly comfortable. Room included a fridge. External shared toilet and shower were clean and easy to access Kitchen right by room but was quiet at night.

Very helpful staff who spoke excellent English. Great location and price. We enjoyed our two nights there. All the key sites in Nara were within easy walking distance and they had good bikes for rent as well.

Beautiful architecture, great employees and we enjoyed the shower unit in room - wish I had this at home. They can give instructions to find self service laundromat, brunch locations and train station departure information.

Surprisingly good
Hotel Pagoda Nara was surprisingly good to me. It was at a hidden place, with very usual outside looking. The interior was very nice, and the room was quite spacious, not like usual Japanese hotel. The surrounding environment was excellent, with temples, tower, pond, at the heart of Nara Park.15 minutes walking to Nara Railway Station; one minute to Sanjo Dori where there are countless stores and restaurants.

Fantastic location! Right near the park with beautiful surroundings and lots of shops and eating options. Staff are friendly, helpful and spoke English. The beds were firm, but with a mattress topper to soften them they were quite comfortable. Parking underneath and a pay station next door.

The room is very small. Hardly any space to open your luggage, or lay it down. Also the thermostat is set to a certain temperature. It got too hot and stuffy.

First 2 nights in Japan!
Couldn’t have asked for more for our first 2 nights in Japan! Easy to find from the Kix limo bus, just a short fun walk thru the markets & around the pond! Central location to all the sights. Based on some reviews, the room was bigger than we expected and the staff were all very nice! Really enjoyed our time exploring Nara and easing into Japan before the bigger cities! Highly recommend!

Wonderful time.
Despite arriving at a ridiculous hour, the staff were very helpful and offered to let us use the shared kitchen area and hold our luggage for us until check in time. The room was by far the most spacious I have ever seen in Japan, equipped with two beds, a fold out couch, and a nicely sized TV. The bath/shower area was also very spacious, and the location was just a short walk away from shopping, restaurants, and Nara Park. Wonderful place.

Nice hotel not far from train station
Great place to be and will be back again. Walking distance from the station is about 10 minutes but worth the walk as there are a lot of attraction and food along the way. Nice and cozy place to be. The next day to Todaiji temple is nearer because of its location.

Cheap and very basic
Pagoda Hotel is very well located, and that's about the only positive thing I can write about it. The room we had was tiny and not comfortable, the shared space was also very basic, overall it was a very cheap place.

Great Location close to the park. I recommend hiring electric bikes to ride around the city and see all the sights, staff are very helpful with this.

Quiet, Convenient, Good Room Layout
When we were pulling up to the hotel it didn't look like anything special, but it ended up being a great stay. It's very near (3 min walk) to Kofuku-ji Temple and Nara Park entrance, a couple picturesque ponds, and 10 minutes from the main shopping streets in the old part of town. The room was quite spacious and a great layout - a separate entryway/closet space, separate toilet, sink, and shower/bath rooms, and bedroom with a sitting area. It made it easy for each person to be getting ready and and stay out of each other's way. It's nothing fancy (minimal amenities and services), but it's a very good value with a nice room in a great location with a friendly staff. I would definitely stay there again.
