"Conveniently located for the explorer."
This is the time I have stayed at this hotel. I was nervous about finding it, but as I pulled into Kyobashi station on the JR loop line (clockwise from Osaka), there it was, standing proudly on the right, nicely labelled. Upon exiting the JR station, turn left, cross the square, and the Keihan hotel sits above a shopping mall. Go in through to sets of double glass doors and take the lift to reception on the 7th floor.
Check-in was quick and I was given a room key, yes a real key, with a plastic fob. You just have to tap the fob on the lift control in either of the 2 of 4 lifts that go upwards to the guest rooms and select your floor. I handed the key and fob back to reception before going out, they're a bit cumbersome.
The rooms are about standard size for Japan, i.e. compact and bijou. There's a fridge, nice kettle, drinks, air-con, NASA loo, shower and bath. They also supply night-gowns rather than pajamas. Never worn one before!
There are drink vending machines on each floor, and a nice coffee/lunch/breakfast room next to reception. I also asked to use the guest laundry facilities. There are 3 sets of washers and dryers, slightly hidden, but reception will help and supply washing powder. Free to use as well, very generous.
The room was warm and comfortable, and I enjoyed my stay very much, there were no issues. Good value for money.
