I would recommend this hotel for anyone coming to Naples. The staff was excellent in helping me to locate my room and the adjacent restaurant provided wonderful food and service. The property is located on a street that is not ideal but convenient to the train station and buses. The room was clean but not modern. It was perfectly adequate for my needs.

The good: Central location close to main train and metro station, shops, and many restaurants. Staff was excellent, friendly, and had great suggestions for what to do in the area. Breakfast that was included in my reservation was good. The bad: Maybe my standards are too high, but although “recently renovated” the hotel still looked overall outdated. Bathroom smelled really bad (like a very old hotel bathroom) despite the many times I sprayed it. Couldn’t figure out how to turn on the heater (although I should have called for assistance on this, clearly I was too tired for that hehe). Finally the key to the room is huge and heavy, wishing they had key cards to enter the room esp when you are touristing around with a small purse that is already jammed pack. Overall: For a night maybe 2, it does the job if you don’t really care about the fancy luxury life. Staff makes up for the shortcomings of the facility

Me and my partner had a great stay at this hotel! All the staff we met were really helpful and friendly, our room was very clean, plenty of choice at the bar/breakfast in the morning! I can’t fault the hotel at all really, it’s a little outdated but was still a nice hotel. The hotel is situated next to the train and metro stations which is really convenient for travelling around the city and getting to Pompeii etc. the metro is very handy as it’s a big city and you need it to get around. One thing we will mention is that it’s quite noisy in the area but I think anywhere you stay in the city will be the same. Also the streets are quite dirty. We also thought that there wasn’t too many decent restaurants or bars close to the hotel so you will need to catch the metro. It can feel a bit sketchy walking around at night in some not so well lit areas, but we encountered no problems. As long as you have some common sense, don’t walk around alone at night down dark streets and be aware of people around you you’ll be fine. Other than that I would recommend this hotel, we had a great time Naples has a lot of charm!

Gratitude for peaceful and carefree stay.
Nice hotel with perfect service and lovely staff. I must mention something really special. About these lovely human beings on the reception. I think their names are Lisa and Mostafa. We have arrived with my daughter to the hotel one night after the day trip in Pompeii. We were thirsty and tha bar was closed. We have asked these lovely people about the drink possibilities. As the bar was closed they shared their personal drink with us without any hesitation and with smile. Very nice gesture of humanity that you do not see everywhere these days. Wholehearted gratitude.

Hotel Vergilius Billia is nice, clean, and well-maintained. Once you are inside the hotel it's good, we enjoyed our stay including the food quality at its restaurant. However, the only issue we observed was the surrounding area near the railway station felt a bit unsafe.

Unfriendly, unhelpful and rude staff. Did not feel welcome. Breakfast is average. Rooms are poor and lacking in basically facilities, fridge not working, few amenities (toiletries, no bottled water). Definitely not a 4 star - more like 2 at best. Would not recommend staying here. Location is handy for the station but surrounding area is vile and dangerous. Requested a twin room 6 weeks before stay and this was not honoured - staff did not apologise and made out it was my error. Issue was corrected after some time by a different member of staff. Worst hotel I’ve stayed in

Disappointing
The room looked nothing like the photos. It felt cold and dark and creepy. The hallways were loud and heard easily from the room. You also had to use the key to lock the door, so you were literally locked in. Seems like a fire hazard. I would not stay here again.

Hotel is closer to the train station which is the good part but its not clean and doesn’t feel safe to walk around. Breakfast was good esp the coffee. Room was spacious but not very clean. Bathroom was good. Hotel staff was pleasant.

I have no idea how this hotel has 4 stars. The street it’s on is really close to the train station which is very convenient however it’s really rough, trash everywhere and it feels like an unsafe area. When we got into the hotel we were very disappointed, the photos of the nice clean modern rooms must be airbrushed, because they do not look like the pictures at all. The walls were dirty and scuffed, all the laminate was peeling off the furniture and it was also scuffed and scratched, the grout was falling out of parts of the shower and was covered in mould/mildew, the shower head looked like it’s never been cleaned before, the lamps beside the bed weren’t even screwed in all the way and looked like they would fall off any second, the fridge didn’t work and there wasn’t even a kettle or anything, there were a load of ants crawling around on the floor and the towels smelt weird. We did get breakfast included which was nice and the main lobby looked nice but overall the only way this is a 4 star hotel is if it’s out of 10. Very disappointed, wouldn’t stay here again.

The area outside the property is very dirty and scummy. Inside the hotel is comfortable and safe. We stayed 2 nights here and it included breakfast. Breakfast has a lot of variety for food. The bedroom was spacious and clean. The rain shower seemed like a cool feature but wasn’t the best to use, it sprays everywhere.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! We booked a remodeled Superior Room 3 months in advance and they sent us -without telling us up front - to a standard room that was in a pretty bad condition. We didn’t even had space to open our luggage. I went to the front desk and told them that was Not the room we reserved and they said they made a mistake and they oversold it. No solution was given to us. Next day we went to breakfast at 10am, and they refused to serve us (which was included with our room)- a rude lady told us at the restaurant that they were already closed as breakfast was until 10am. As per the front desk guy from the night before, breakfast was until 11am. We were scammed and treated very bad. Stay away!

I'll start by saying, I will not stay at this hotel again. I travel on a city break weekend every month. For Easter I chose Naples and stayed at the Hotel Vergilius Billia for 3 nights. (Note, the check out is 10am!) This hotel gets a 5 / 10. My room was 'heartless'. Dim wore paint. Depressing. The hotel needs a MAJOR re-fit. The window view was to a grim inner courtyard. I kept the curtains shut as a result. There is no plastic key card but a heavy key from 1970s. Really? The receptionists weren't responsive to my few questions / requests. The wifi was on and then off and then on. There was a plastic covered notice on the bathroom wall about the shower basin filling up with instructions how to turn down the water pressure or remove the filthy cover over the drain. Really? Yes, my feet were swimming in a pool of water. The main hall floors had ceramic tiles and and every un-aware / ignorant guest would chat and discuss the day plans and the sound would carry down the hall into the room. A nap was impossible. If you want to sleep, don't stay here. And there was a fridge in the room. BUT, the fridge difused lots of heat adding to the carbon footprint, but was essentially useless. Nothing in the fridge was cold. They should just remove the fridge from the room. Guest services didn't care about my opinion about this. In summary, I would not stay at this hotel again.

The neighborhood felt unsafe. We decided not to walk around in the night for fear of being mugged. The surrounding area reminds one of a 3rd world city/country. The view from our room was terrible and overlooked the inside of the building which was run down and there was a clothes line outside our window. Breakfast options were very limited. When asked for a room change , I was told that they were fully booked. Never again.

It was a bit noisy at night there was a school of kids staying there.The staff of the students and staff of hotel didn’t stop them from knocking on doors of hotel residents.We didn’t have them knock on ours.But we could hear them laughing.Breakfast was good again we didn’t get good service from the waiter he cleared a table for the guest next to us.But didn’t tidy for us.Night sleep etc was gd.

Pleasant hotel but staff allowed a large group of people drink and make LOTS of noise in the lobby on the first night of our stay. They were slamming doors, screaming, and talking loudly in the halls and in the lobby. The night attendant didn’t seem to care until we came down to complain. NEVER should have happened.

The hotel is in desperate need of renovation. Toilet is leaking and looks disgusting. The radiator is also leaking, I couldn't use my shoes after I left them next to it as they they were soaking wet. Everything else dated and falling apart.

Hotel Vergilius Billia was a great choice for me and my partner. We found the location so convenient and the rooms were clean and comfortable. It has nice staff and very welcoming. If we return to Naples this would be a nice property to stay at again.

Very comfortable room and well decorated amenities. Good selection for breakfast buffet. Friendly staff; who were able to assist us in English and French! Close to the train station as well as shops.
