The Brass Lantern was great. Sharon was wonderful and welcoming. The continental breakfast was wonderful. We appreciated having the home baked foods and warm cookies at 5 pm. Very nice outdoor space! My only comment would be that the rooms in the entry and living rooms could be noisy as people spent time in those rooms; we played cards in the both the dining and living rooms and tried to be quiet but it was very easy to hear a phone call from the rooms.

had to cancel my reservation due to the winds on the island, not able to get a ferry. had a 3 night stay booked, cancel after 1st day.. still had to pay for 3 nights.. I knew I was going to lose the first night, but when the ferry doesnt run and puts you on standby for a whole day, our job had to be cancelled. I was hoping for more accommodations with the hotel.

Our stay at The Brass Lantern was the best bed and breakfast experience we’ve ever had. It was quiet, comfortable, and the staff was delightful. From the front steps you could walk in any direction and feel like you were walking back in time. The rooms and inn were beautiful and complement the quintessential Nantucket vibe of the neighborhood. We will be returning and hope to be greeted by Sharon our fantastic hostess!

Extremely deceiving room photos.
Hotel booker beware. Owner uses very misleading room photos. We paid for an upgraded deluxe room and got a room the size of a closet with a ridiculously obstructive ceiling. See picture. European size rooms are bigger. This was a classic “bait and switch” tactic. On a positive note, the Service staff was great and so was the weather. Two thumbs down for the room.

Hello Brad - Glad you enjoyed Nantucket's weather and were pleased with our staff. As you know, when booking rooms on OTA's, you are booking a 'room type', not a specific room and the site displays random photos of that 'room type'. Your room was in a 'room type' of Garden Wing Queen, as it is. The only way to book a specific room is to book directly on the property's site. OTA's offer great range or properties and convenience and we are glad that you found us there.

Our stay was wonderful. The facility was well kept by attentive staff and they were available easily at most times. Rooms are small, as to be expected, but we'll appointed and clean. While it may lack the trappings of some larger hotels, it's also available at a more reasonable price. It's quaint and comfortable with a wonderful host in Sharon. Close to town, easy in and out. This is a reliable and cozy spot.

Long weekend in the fall
Lovely guest house, clean. Efficient staff during COVID. Bathroom space was tight. Beds and linen comfy. Nice garden seating. Location convenient to historic downtown and ferry - easy walk.

Lovely B&B in great location
Wonderful service, ideal breakfast in a terrific location. A block or two from the Whaling Museum and downtown. Staff was particularly warm and friendly and made great baked goods each morning.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I hope you brought this issue to the attention of our staff - although we are pet friendly, we do have 'rules' for dogs and owners and rarely have any pet related issues.

Loved the walkable distance to downtown, with easy access to restaurants and activities The inn keeper helped with suggested activities with our 2 days of rain and cold she even scheduled a tour for us

May 2019 at Brass Lantern
Had a great time at the Brass Lantern! We stayed in the Empire room (second floor) and were glad to not be on the first floor, as you'd definitely get noise from arriving guests/lounge and breakfast area. Breakfast was yummy - french press coffee/tea (these were out all day), pastries, bagels and yummy spreads, cereal, fruits, yogurt. Was nice to be able to store our bags in the Inn after check-out so we could enjoy the island before the ferry ride home. Location is great - very limited street noise yet you can walk all over town easily. Would definitely go back!

You have got to be kidding me
Our stay was fine until our last morning just before check out. My wife and I were arriving at the dining area to have breakfast and were surprised to see two dogs off leash in this area where people were eating and the breakfast food was presented. I really didn't mind until one of the dogs put his front paws on the chair of the table next to ours and began to sniff a place setting on the table. We were getting ready to check out so I didn't say anything to the management. On our way out both dogs were lying on a sofa with their owner in a common sitting area. The management was well aware this was going on and did not remedy the situation. Both my wife and I are loving dog owners but our dog does not use our furniture nor does he sniff where we eat.

Apologies! I am also a dog owner and lover - and my dogs would not be allowed to behave as you describe. No dogs, either on or off leash, should be in the dining room during breakfast - exception, of course for service dogs. Thank you for your review, however, glad that you enjoyed your stay - up until the last couple of hours!

Lovely Nantucket Inn
Highly recommend this Inn. Charming and well situated. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful and serene outdoor seating area. Owners are wonderful- informative, friendly and super nice!

Lovely
Room was very charming, clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was fabulous, and they have a charming, private garden with comfortable furniture for relaxing on a summer day. I would definitely recommend it to those who like to stay in town.

Great place to relax and take in the scenery and restaurants. Lisa is a gracious host. Scrumptious breakfast each morning. Warm and welcoming to children. Only perhaps needed/fixed replacement is the King bed as it was "sagging in the middle" the box springs had no support underneath. Definitely would stay again.

Nantucket perfection
We have been to this inn many times and it never disappoints- it only seems to get better. The innkeeper is attentive, the inn itself charming, the room spacious and beautifully decorated, the grounds lovely, the location perfect. The breakfast is sumptuous and every afternoon there are fresh backed cookies. Its everything you would want from a Nantucket experience. Can't wait to return!
