Beachfront hotel, although we were on the bay side. Continental breakfast offered a variety of items. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, but needed another person at the desk...one person checking in a line of approximately 6 families. That created a lengthy wait for some as the clerk also had several phone calls to handle but she was a professional and did not let it get the best of her. We'll definitely stay again.
room was wet on carpet two to three feet in front of door. Mold smell. Bathroom had only on wall soap dispenser and none in the shower. No soap and no hair dryer. As to the water, I believe the door seal was bad or the window was left open because there was a large downpour before we checked in and probably caused the wet carpet. It was tough on my wife's allergies. I thought the lack of soap or shampoo was a little bad for a 3 star hotel. The bed was adequate but room was quite small.
Hotel was clean, front desk helpful even calling when it looked like we were going to be late to set us up for the night. Friendly guests, very pet friendly. Bring a coffee pot and you'll be much happier.
From the minute we checked in, the staff were helpful and friendly. We were given the option to upgrade the room to one on the top level but kept our original room (Nicholas Johnson). Breakfast had many options including fresh cooked eggs, sausage, etc. Enjoyed complimentary wine each evening. Room was quiet and well equipped. Chris was especially helpful in guiding us to great places for sea food.
One of the best B&B I have stayed at. Will go out of my way to stay there again.
Perhaps the most popular tourist destination on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, Nags Head boasts a history steeped in legends of sea-going scoundrels, including the infamous pirate Blackbeard. Today visitors flock here for the nature trails, wildlife refuges, shipwreck remains, historic sites, and the beautiful beaches and world-class fishing. Hang gliding is offered at Jockey’s Ridge, one of the few remaining giant sand dunes on the Atlantic coast.
