The cottage is located 4 blocks (1/2 mile) from Barnes Street beach access on the west side of the "bypass" with a light and a crosswalk in Nags Head. Another 3 blocks west is Barnes St. park with access to Nags Head Woods and the paths of the Nature Conservancy. Awesome new deck space for enjoying the outdoors once back at the cottage. Walking distance to a coffee shop, ice cream, surf shops, Dowdy Park (with farmer's market), and the YMCA (visitor passes available). PLEASE NOTE - Base rates are for up to 4 people. Please make sure you put in the correct number of guests, including pets, when making an inquiry or booking to get the correct rate. Each guest after 4 is an additional $20 per day. Thank you! Located in a quiet, mostly residential neighborhood on a dead-end road on the west side of the "bypass" in Nags Head, the cottage has two bedrooms and one full bathroom. The first bedroom has two twin beds and is located on the ground floor adjacent to the living room and bathroom. The second bedroom is an open "loft" bedroom with a queen-size bed and futon sitting area. The kitchen is a basic but functional galley-style kitchen and is equipped with pots, pans, utensils, plates, and glassware. The living area features an electric fireplace (not available for use June- August). There is lots of deck space to enjoy the outdoors with Nags Head Hammock's swing and chair, outdoor dining table and chairs with umbrella, and a park-style charcoal grill. You can walk to the beach in 10 minutes. The closest beach access does have a lifeguard stand. There is also Barne's Street park on the sound side with walking trails through the woods that lead to the sound. (Perfect light hike for those with kids!) We provide the first roll of toilet paper and paper towels but additional needs are guests' responsibility. Beds will be freshly made and one set of bath towels per person (based on the occupancy you indicated) will be provided. Guests must bring their own beach towels. ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES. Family groups only. Small, non-shedding breed dogs, (under 30lbs.) can be accommodated for a fee. Guests must agree to not leave pets in the house unattended and to not allow pets on the second level of the home. Crates must be put on provided crate pad as to not damage the floor. All pet waste must be removed from the yard before check-out or additional fees will apply ($250) for removal. Please be sure to put in the correct number of guests when booking for the most accurate rate. While the house is able to sleep up to 6 people, the base rate is for up to 4 people. There is an additional $20 per day charge for every guest over 4 people. Our family of 6 enjoyed our first trip to the Outer Banks, enjoying the comfort of this little home to return to after days at the beach. All 6 of us slept comfortably and never felt crowded -- it's a true 6sleep home. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook to save money --the kitchen table (what a great table!) was the absolute best spot to share our meals. Beds were comfy, good shower pressure, air conditioners worked well, etc.... all that you would expect from a highly rated rental home. We thought we would walk to the beach but usually drove with family of 6 beach gear, typically went up a block to Bonnett St access for the bathrooms and lifeguards, parking was never an issue. But sometimes we walked, an easy, quick and safe walk from rental location! Mom even felt comfortable with kids walking solo to the Spot for evening açaí bowls and late night ice cream : ) Nags head was the perfect perch to enjoy OBX, beaches were wavy and full of surfers to inspire us, but still nags head was an easy drive to lighthouses and southern towns/beaches/islands. We had a great stay - house was clean and had everything we needed. Rented bikes and was able to easily get around to restaurants and the beach. Beach is walking distance and on the second day we realized there was a cart in the laundry area with chairs and bOogie boards! Outdoor area with hammocks and grill was awesome. Great property. Well stocked with all essentials. Great location. Walk to the beach and ice cream place, what more do you need, right? A ton of restaurants nearby. Outlet mall. They advised me of a situation that occurred with the property and presented me with options to still allow my family to enjoy vacation. Their communication was precise and very helpful. We were afforded another house while they did repairs on the original house. During the whole process keeping in contact. Very highly recommend them and their companies properties! ##### Joel T. It’s small but big enough for our family and it was very clean and comfortable for us all. We absolutely loved our stay very close to everything we wanted to do and to the grocery store as well. The location is great - close to lots of coffee shops, restaurants and the beach. And just about a 10 minute drive to Jennette's Pier. The house was clean and easily accommodated my husband and me. The location was great, walking distance to the beach, plenty to do for the teens in the area, and in a quiet neighborhood to come back to. A wonderful place to unwind.
