Decent Hotel for the Price
We recently stayed at the Comfort Inn on our first visit to the Outer Banks. The hotel was overall decent for the price. The clerk that checked us in gave us a complimentary oceanfront upgrade, which was a nice perk. Our room was comfortable and the cleaning staff was great! It was nice having a microwave and refrigerator in room. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. There wasn't much variety in the foods that were there, but the staff kept the kitchen area clean. A sign asking people to wear shoes in the kitchen might be helpful! The hotel could use some maintenance--a little TLC would really improve the condition. In addition to the great cleaning staff, the front desk staff was mostly pleasant. That is, up until we checked out. We asked the young man at the desk for a luggage cart, since we couldn't find any in the entryway of the hotel. He let us know that if we needed a cart, we could check each floor until we found one. I asked him if he was seriously asking us to go floor-to-floor to find a luggage cart and he indignantly said he was. I flat out told him we would not be doing that at 6:45 in the morning. Thankfully as we went to retrieve our cooler by hand, another staff member saw us and provided us with a luggage cart! Despite the bad check out experience, the hotel was nice enough for a short beach getaway.
