Good location; disappointing hotel experience

Location: Lake beaches, hiking, state parks, wineries and shopping
I usually have good things to say about my hotel stays, however, this one was very disappointing. The room had a terrible odor to it almost like it allowed wet dogs to lounge in the room. The evenings were loud with doors slamming, voices talking and people moving around all evening. The one breakfast we ate in the hotel was not stocked well and even the boiled eggs were not peeled like most restaurants. It was not a good experience overall.

Dirty And Filthy

There is not ventalation in the bathrooms so everything steams up and it makes the whole room hot. Nothing was clean like floors and all bathroom counters. Too high price for what you get. Breakfast area was very small and not impressive.

Great Hotel but Overpriced

My family and I stayed here to visit Michigan Adventures for the weekend. The hotel staff greeting was amazing throughout the entire stay. The facility was very clean and well kept, the lobby had snacks, beautiful decor, and a very relaxing environment. The pool area was very well maintained as well. My only draw back to this location would be the slight smell in the halls and rooms more than likely from aged carpeting and the beds are a bit worn and caused extreme discomfort. Though thanks to the warm, inviting staff the hotel overall was nice but I do feel its a bit over-priced. Being an advid traveler staying at more exclusive hotels that are bigger in room space and more desirable, the cost doesnt add up.

Specified when I first booked the room that I needed a ground floor room and called again the day before I arrived and was told no problem just call the morning of my arrival to remind them. Called the morning of arrival and was told that I could not have a ground floor room because they had booked them all the night before. The morning breakfast was the worst I've ever had at Hampton Inn the fresh fruit and yogurt were empty the 20 minutes we were down there and the English muffin was stale. This will definitely be the last time I ever stay at this hampton inn.

We usually stay at this hotel when we visit our kids. The Grandkids love the pool and the rooms are always comfortable. The staff is friendly. We've never had any problems here.
