The location is incredible, with easy access to superb beaches, ancient towns, Cathar castles, prehistoric sites, unusual and interesting vineyards and world-class art galleries. There is also local swimming in a river gorge and there are good restaurants in Tautavel. We did not know the region before we visited but it is highly recommended."
