Property was located in good area, close to several malls and shopping areas Rooms very small, hard to move around. Poor management, first day I arrived used sink ,it was plugged, hardly drained, brought it to their attention, nothing happened. TV did not work the whole duration of stay. They didn't care about these issues. Will not stay here again.

Muscat Ibis
It was very clean and comfortable, the reception staff were extremely helpful and very efficient.They will print boarding passes etc for you. Breakfast was very good and very reasonable, again the staff were extremely nice. It had very good free wifi. There was always a normal taxi waiting outside. It is a 3 minute walk to a hospital/clinic that does PCR Testing (c£36) and it is about a 5 minute walk to a very big shopping mall. The electric plugs are standard UK plugs everywhere in Oman. There are a cluster of shops 5 mins away that include local restaurants, coffee shops, McDonalds, Burger King and a Shell petrol station that has a supermarket attached. All Shell petrol stations in Oman seem to have a McDonalds and a supermarket attached. They also seem to have an ATM nearby as does the one near the Ibis. I would not hesitate to stay at the Muscat Ibis again. There were no bad points on my trip.

The property is great, yet late evening, the taxi drivers waiting in the lobby, express very loudly their discussions. Frustrating if you are sitting in the restaurant next. Otherwise, Ibis is my favorite hotel.

smallest room in muscat
i have hardly anything great to speak of this property. I had to book this hotel at the end of my 14 days trip as my pre scheduled return got deferred. I booked the hotel through hotels.com. I booked a standard room for myself. The check-in took a bit longer time as there were few more people was at the counter. Though acceptable. I got the room and entered. Frankly the size of the room can be described as a furnished servant quarter. I have never seen such a small hotel room and such a super compact bathroom. Secondly the wifi of the hotel. I saw some feedback that the hotel has a poor wifi, I assumed those could be exaggerated allegations. But after my stay of three days, I am absolutely convinced that the hotel offers a horrible connection. There was a flyer in the room to boast about the internet connectivity. They should be ashamed to place that in the rooms. I complained twice in the front desk, but the people were helpless. The complimentary wifi offered at the city bus was of better quality than that of the hotel. On my last night of the booking, I returned from work and found the room was not serviced. I called up the front desk to send me at least a bottle of water. Promised to be in 2 minutes. The wait continued for 45 minutes, followed by 3 phone calls to the front desk. I have seen the Ibis as a branded hotel in various part of the world. But the experience in Muscat was pathetic. There are better accommodations available in the surrounding area.

The standard IBIS hotel that you would find around the world. Good for a short business trip. The bed could do with a new mattress but nothing too bad. If you want quiet nights, choose the rooms away from the main road.

Had a 2 night stay. You needed a taxi to go to the beach. No bar to have alcohol with your dinner. Came to clean the room at 4-30pm when we were resting.

Complaint ignored, bathroom door weird!
We had several complaints when staying at Ibis Muscat. First of all, the breakfast buffet wasnt good at all. Second, we complained about the room being too darn cold even after turning of the AC for a whole hour, and they failed to do anything about it. It stayed freezing cold for the rest of our stay. Also, we got a room with double beds, but were shocked to find that the bathroom door had no lock on it! What if someone is sharing a room with a colleague? Thats seriously uncomfortable!

Recommended hotel in AL Khuwair district of Muscat
My husband and I stayed on the top floor (5th) of this hotel for four days and found it the perfect fall-out place to explore Muscat and surroundings by rental car. This hotel is located in the Al Khuwair district with some restaurants and shops in walking distance and a shopping Mall with a big Lulu supermarket. In a 10-15-minute drive via Sultan Al Qaboos highway, you can reach the Old Town of Muscat with Gate Museum, National Museum, Palace etc. The hotel is conveniently located at a 15-minute drive from the airport.

As comfortable as it was, and efficient as the staff was, the room's temperature was difficult to maintain, and the hot water was luke warm. The breakfast was delicious, but the staff did not stop guests from taking their used plates already eaten in, to refill food. I brought it to the attention of a supervisor in the dinning room, but she did nothing. I then told the desk staff, who promised to change it. I went for breakfast early the next day.

dear valuable guest Thank you for your feedback I was surprised to read your comment mentioning the Mall is far as we are only 500 m and walking distance from Muscat Grand Mall and the newly opened Avenue mall. Taxi fare are set by local authorities. Nice hotel
Nice stuff very helpful and smiley, nice location close to airport , food options was good , clean room , beds need to be improved but overall the room was good , I recommend the hotel to Buisness travlers it is worth to use it
