Small but inexpensive

Posted 05-Jul-2017
Location: If you are in Edinburgh for some rugby matches, Murrayfield stadium is close by. There are several decent restaurants nearby as well.
While the room was small the bathroom a bit awkward, it was significantly less than other places. It is not within easy walking distance of the main attractions but the bus goes right by. The staff was friendly and efficient. If you want more space and easy walking to downtown, expect to pay about 50% more.

Although keenly priced it leaves much to be desired. Broken toilet seat. Missing shower cabinet panel. Light bulbs not working. 2 phone calls to get towels - none in the room on arrival.

Disappointing stay at City break hotel

Posted 30-Jan-2017
Pros: Nothing, in truth!
Cons: Some sense of a proper reception, things in room mended (especially basics like lights), warm enough/extra bedding available.
Location: The guest house is on the A8 into Edinburgh. Nothing much nearby. You'd need transport to get into Edinburgh.
Even tho I phoned to say we would arrive 22-22.30 pm, we had to wait outside some time ringing the bell (everything was locked!) and phoning their number before anyone answered and explained how to get in. No one ever appears downstairs to help/answer questions. The room had missing bulbs for bathroom mirror light and bedside light, fittings in the bathroom were broken, and the wardrobe door seemed to have been ripped off. The room was in the basement and pretty chilly/damp in spite of a radiator . (tho they had at least provided a blow heater!)

Stay away at any cost

Posted 29-Nov-2016 on Ebookers
Booked without reading reviews so was given a shock. No one greeted me at the hotel. No parking space. No lights. No one at reception. Dingy and moist surrounding. Called the number no one picked. V v shabby hotel. No one should stay. They just take moeny n no one opens the front door. No one is at reception. Thankfully got my money back. I stayed elsewhere as no one let us in as it was locked and no one picked call. Was also told in other review no hot water or gas or light installed. Stay away.
