This is a great place to stay, with wonderful friendly and incredible staff. The gardens are lovely, the beach is beautiful and the location is excellent, being right by a whole bunch of great food and bar options.
I would suggest that you go for the custom made cocktails even during happy hour(s) as the cheap premix options are a poor substitute.
We had a great experience at the spa, which was very relaxing.
The rooms are clean and spacious with lovely modern bathrooms and good facilities
The only thing that could be improved was new beds, as the old ones are getting rather soft and unsupportive. Oh and a few more beach umbrellas would be good as they only have 3, creating a sprint in the mornings if you are of a paler complexion :)
The place was very family friendly with the staff taking great care of the children that were there. However it is also peaceful for couples (we visited on our anniversary) without intrusion

As a Celiac Muri Beach club offered an fantastic range of glutn free food options. All my meals were delicous. The staff were so friendly and helpful and always checked with the chef if I had any questions.
We arrived late at night to a very nice, modern little bungalow with everything but a T.V.
When we awoke in the morning the views from our room over the Muri lagoon were spectacular. We had a wonderful, relaxing week on Rarotonga at the Muri Beachcomber Resort. I'm glad there was no T.V. in the room as it made our stay more relaxing. We read and talked and sat outside in the evenings instead of laying in the room watching T.V.
My only gripe was that we had a 10:00am check out and our flight didn't leave until 10:00pm so we had to leave our luggage in the lounge area and wait all day. We offered to pay for extra time but were told that the resort was fully booked, which was understandable. It just made it a very long trip home.
Lovely villas with great views on Muri beach, clean and well kept accommodation, walking distance to nice restaurants
For such expensive accommodation, charging for every little extra is a real turn off (i.e. transfers from airport despite it being only 20 mins and sharing with 3 other people, paddle boards, WIFI etc etc)
Breakfast was good some days and not on others......cheap sliced bread when they are so close to the lovely bakery was a massive let down!!!
Also, I think they should increase the 12 year old limit - we had teenage girls shouting from pool to balcony every day with no consideration for other guests trying to enjoy the break
"Beautiful location, amazing accomodation and food!"
This hotel is definitely one of the best on the island! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and would strongly recommend to stay here if your looking for a bit of luxury but expect to pay a little more as unfortunately you get what you pay for in Raratonga. We'll be back!
We found the resort fantastic. Great location, breakfast was beautiful, you have to try the smoothy. .. Yum yum. We loved the supplied kyayk. After our beautiful breakfast, we paddeled out to the coral and snorkeled looking at the fish and coral in the crystal clear water. Our long lunch was a leasurly strole up the beach to Nautalus who supplied a fantastic range of gluten and dairy free food, all of which was absolutely beautiful. The afternoon was a nap, a movie from the huge range supplied at rumours or another swim( beach, pool or spa). Dinner was again a strole up the beach to Nautalus and home by torch to spot the breach critters. Cooking was available in the well supplied kitchen, but why cook when your on holidays.
Rumours staff was fantastic.
Totally relaxing and a great getaway.
I was in the only bungalow that was closest to the street, so it was noisy with the ever present scooters going by. Would recommend one of the other bungalows closer to the beach. No air conditioning, but in early November, that was not a problem, as the cross ventilation in the room was adequate. It had a completely furnished kitchenette. There was a two-burner gas stove, but I could not get it to work. The microwave also did not work. The bungalow was very clean. Interestingly, it had a handmade safety box that was suitable for use, but not built to withstand abuse as it was not made of metal. I did not expect one anyway in this level of accommodations. The proprietors are what made the stay exceptional. They were very helpful in allowing me early entry, making phone calls for me, and storage of my luggage after checkout time, since my flight was at midnight. In case of an emergency, the owner's home was right across the street, so that was comforting to know. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel. The proprietors will ensure that you have everything you need.
We chose Manea to have some peace and quiet away from the resorts and it turned out perfect! Our cottage was comfortable with all amenities (kitchen, terrace, tourist information), nice pool area and sea-kayak for guest use, stunning beach right on your doorstep, helpful owner, and above all the perfect place to relax!!!
On the southeastern tip of the island of Rarotonga, Muri Beach is an archetypal South Pacific getaway. Palm trees adorn powder-white beaches, and beachgoers often quench their island thirst with fresh coconut milk. Snorkelers and divers find this area to be a particular favorite, as its protected lagoon coastline and turquoise waters are home to a vast array of coral and marine life.
