Over-the-top luxury

Pros: Very central location. Everything looks and feels brand-new.
The Sofitel is a certainly stunningly luxurious hotel. However, one gets the sense that they are trying too hard. All the ornamentation actually gets in the way of practicality. For instance, the bathroom is enclosed in frosted glass, which looks rather impressive, but the glass walls are not vertical, which means you can easily hit your head, especially at night. Also, the grand sofa is so overloaded with pillows that you have to clear some space before anybody can sit down. This gives the whole room the feel of an exhibit that one should not touch. As a result, the hotel is rather unsuitable for families with young children. On the other hand, couples on a romantic getaway might find it rather charming. The same over-the-top approach applies to the staff. They are all extremely forthcoming to the point of being in your face, and often there is some upselling involved.

Excellent hotel with ample security

Amazing hotel,had a great time there. Loved the club breakfast offer wish all Sofitel hotel would offer that.

Its BKC location is very convenient for me, but that's not the reason I returned to this hotel: once again, outstanding service from the staff was even better than I remembered.

The wall was so thin, I was able to hear everything from outside of my room and next door as well. It was very old and not well maintained hotel. not visiting again.

Sofitel one of the best hotels

My experience from start to end was excellent , Staff was so courteous , so welcoming , and trust me we always got more than committed , if I plan to stay in Mumbai Sofitel would be my first choice , Had been to Mumbai , with family and experience in Sofitel was really too good and most memorable . I mean words will not suffice . I will give 5 * s for sure . I would really suggest the same hotel to all my friends and family and all others who are seeing my review

Staff issues

Hotel is of standard naffnes for India but the staff at the reception where awful! If you don't look like a million dollars regardless that you may be, they won't want to know.
