"The hotel is gorgeous! Our room was perfect, lots of space and mostly very clean. The only bit that wasn’t was the balcony so when we stepped onto that, as it was a beautiful Easter weekend we then put the dirt onto the carpet. Sunday lunch was lovely, the room we had it in was dog friendly and they were lovely to our boys (spaniel and GSD). We then went for a walk and a drink. I do wish we were allowed to take the dogs into the lounge or they had another area as we spent all our time in the orangery which was lovely but mixing it up and seeing more of the hotel would have been nice. We came across a few issues over the weekend. One was they hadn’t told us the lunch menu and dinner menu were exactly the same and as we didn’t fancy have 2 roast dinners we needed up at the pizzeria which was very disappointing. The food was not cooked properly, it was cold and the service wasn’t great. All in all we had an amazing trip and will be returning but will probably eat outside of the hotel next time "

"Gardener’s cottage proved to be a perfect place to stay for walking on the North Yorks coast. It’s well-equipped, cosy and comfortable. Two parking spaces is an absolute bonus in this area. Whitby is a great place to visit - especially the Abbey and Whitby brewery taproom! Sandsend is great for eating places - Estbeck House, the Fish Cottage and the Hart Inn all proved excellent in their food choices and quality. Highly recommend this cottage."

"Second time we have stayed at this lovely, clean, spacious property. Ideal location so close to Sandsend beach and had a lovely meal at The Stables, just down the road. Cannot fault a thing apart from the Wi-fi signal - at times there was no signal and had to search for areas in the house where we could pick one up (sometimes at the top of the garden) Just to note this wasn’t a problem last year when we stayed. Not ideal for 3 teenage kids, but we survived and this did not stop us from having a great time away.Thank you for the eggs and milk.Would love to return one day. "

"Small B&B which is in a quiet area, but just of main routes so easy to find. There is sufficient off-street parking for guests which is a plus. Breakfast offers a good choice for all tastes and the breakfast room, at the side of the property affords sea views which adds to the pleasant feel of what is obviously a well run B&B. The room had a comfortable double bed, ensuit bathroom and provided with tea, coffee, bottled water and biscuits.I was met by the host on arrival and given a tour so I knew where everything was, rather than have to try and find it. In the moring excellent breakfast service and later attention to the room and replacement of drinks used. I understand there is about to be some up grade work, although I don't think it needs any, so will be even better. The walk into Whitby is about 20 minutes, either on the cliff road or from the top of Upgang Lane, where there is a covenience store and postbox and then side road into town. Whilst there is no evening meal, a pub restaurant just across the road serves excellent meals and is a quiet place to relax if not venturing out. Fully recommend the Haven Crest, only down side is there are steps at the front so probably not suitable for wheelcahir users, otherwise excellent. Will definately use on a next trip to Whitby."
