The setting is lovely and the hotel has character but the property requires some upgrading, including the driveway. The food was delicious but the cost of B&B is definitely overpriced.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
This period property is basically in a poor condition and needs refurbishment. The communal sections have some lovely original features but they are caked in layers of paint and crying out for stripping back.
Our room was dog friendly and located near a door to take our pooch out which was a thoughtful touch but the room smelt damp, had peeling wall paper and had seen many better years. The bath whilst clean was worn roughened enamel and needed to be replaced. There was storage heating not central heating maybe accounting for the damp smell.
This is a shame as the staff were very helpful and the food was good.
To the owners: I understand you close for the winter. Please do the decent thing and refurbish during this time.
