"Although there was building work on one side and roadworks on the other, this did not impact on our overall stay. We were checked in by the very animated and informative Samuel, who explained everything to us in perfect English. The room was very spacious and some really nice touches you keep finding during your stay. There is a fantastic lock on the door which prevents anyone coming into the room. You can find the little switch on the side of the door, switch to red. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on and with the exceptional shower, found it difficult to leave the room. Nice touch with the sweets and flavoured water in the sitting area of reception. Loved the chocolate after check out. The only downside is the additional cost of breakfast, which we decided not to pay for."

"Though the room was small (as expected), for the price the room was absolutely perfect and just what we needed for one night. It was exceptionally clean from the moment you walk into the lobby to the hotel room as well, and it’s nice there is 24 hour reception area. I will mention there are lots of shady people in the Basel train station area (nothing to do with this hotel) but it was sort of a surprise compared to the other cities we saw in Switzerland so please be aware. "

"Basel Marriott offered everything that one would expect of a Marriott hotel, but even more in Switzerland. The rooms were clean and spacious, well-appointed and friendly appearing, in an ideal location. The amenities including a good fitness center, a sauna, a lovely restaurant, and an after-hours center for a drink or snack. What more could you want?"
