Complaint on rate
When checking in, the reception firstly said they cannot find the booking made through Hotels.com. After waiting 15minutes, they found it and complained about the rate we paid through Hotels.com. I believe this complaint should not be directly at me as the rate i pay is agreed with Hotels.com. Not the best Hotel experience i have had.

Our experience was good but a lot has to be done, carpets needs to be change they old, service at the dinning hall is bad but food is fresh and delicious, rooms are ok I'll give them 6 out of 10.

Hotel Promenade needs to really improve
Hotel Promenade need to improve a lot, firstly the are expectations that come standard across hotels. Here there room door access cards machine was not working we used master door card (key) which could open any room this gave me sleepless 2 nights as it means anyone can miss a room and open you room. Secondly we had to beg or call the hotel manager into order at the hotel restaurant as when I also did a telephonic confirmation, the hotel offered buffet breakfast but when we were there you had to order and wait for your breakfast and some cereals were not available. The manager was very defensive when we tried to advice and bring our complain to him eventually after we complained the second day they was slight improvement. The porter services was not even offered to carry our luggages despite my wife being pregnant. The room wardrobe carpet not clean, hotel pool very dirty.

Somewhat disappointed
The overall view and stay was good. However breakfast was a real disappointment. Not only was the variety small but the state of the hot plates where the food was served on was quite disgusting. Don't know when last the had a good clean. There was also a plate with some condominiums on at the plate where the cooking happens that was also very dirty. The tables outside in the 2 days we were there was not cleaned once or chairs put back. The same dirt was on the table for the 2 days.

not the greatest stay ive ever had
the location is not great and is in a very dirty area. There is a nightclub across the road that makes a lot of noise and the windows are not double glazed. The TV quality is terrible with very little selection. The breakfast was not enjoyable at all and the bathrooms in the breakfast hall were not looked after well. Beds were uncomfortable although clean, shower had very little pressure and the hot water only got hot enough that you didn't need to use the cold water. There is no water or milk in the bar fridge, only powdered milk is supplied.

What time does the Restaurant really close?
It must have been a great place before, but time has taken its toll. Still probably the best place to stay if you have to in Nelspruit. According to the website the restaurant is open until 22:00 but we arrived at 21:25, after a 15hour trip and was told they are closed. They said the internet stated a wrong time. After some begging we at least got a burger out of them. So either they dont have the right times on the website or they wanted to close early. a Pain for a tired traveller. If I ever have to go to Nelspruit again, I would still go there again.

The hotel staff was very much on point, They are friendly and knows what they are doing. The bed was very firm and comfortable. The restaurant attendant on our first even didn’t seem to know what he needed to do though!

Trip to Nelspruit
Overall a good experience, the hotel was very clean and tidy. We were recieved well at the hotel and they have catered well for us by additional beds. The Resturant was awesome and it was close to the Promenade shopping Centre. The only downside will be the parking on the second night but the security personel managed to resolve the issue. Overall a good experince.

Hotel was ok but little reason to stay here
The hotel itself was fine, clean, staff was fine but really, there is no reason to stay here. The pool is tiny and in the middle of their restaurant so not comfortable to use. The restaurant is not a restaurant, it is a catering company that just makes food from frozen-- so if you have dietary issues (my husband is gluten intolerant) forget about eating there. The hotel is far from the Nelspruit airport (no hotels are really close to this airport), there is nothing to do in the immediate area, the promenade shopping plaza is nothing more than a grocery store and a few run down shops. The area is not great-- in fact when I went to go outside at just 7pm I was told by the staff it was not safe and I should stay in the fenced in hotel grounds. I would never stay here again. I would recommend the much quainter Graskop or Hazyview areas to stay in.
