"Bit old fashioned, but nice hotel with nice staff."
We spent 2 nights. Rooms are very big, balcony nice view to the sea. Nice, helpful staff. Couple of steps from bus to Naha, Nago, 3 mins from emerald bridge and aquarium entrance. Complementary bus to other hotel with free japanese bath. Breakfast is not as good as other hotels and the hotel need some refurbishment. Overall good location and we spent nice time there.
Pro: near Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, good seaview, free parking with enough space, with a nice swimming pool
Con: no lift if stay in upper floor, breakfast just ok, not too new one, WIFI did not work on day 2
Overall very good for families with the garden, space and natural setting. However no bath, especially with 3 young children in the non-summer season was extremely disappointing (especially for Japanese children who are used to it nightly; other foreign families may not be at all bothered). Many good facilities and amenities with useful and practical information on places to eat and shop, in English and in Japanese.
One very disappointing point was to be woken by my wife at 4am because a poisonous Japanese centipede (mukade) had crawlen over her arms and stomach and gotten into her undershirt - of course these are common in Japan but in your bed in probably less common.
We stayed at the end of March, which was still a little cool despite the heater; a door or extra cover near the entrance would have been nice.
Motobu's main draw is Ocean Expo Park, which is divided into three distinct sections. Visitors to the park can learn about Okinawa culture, see unique tropical flora, and watch various sea creatures at the Churaumi Aquarium and outdoor pools. Motobu, along with Nago, is famous for having Okinawa's earliest cherry blossoms of the year, a feat celebrated at the annual Motobu Yaedake Sakura Festival.
