The hotel is in a great location with friendly helpful staff. The rooms are very spacious and spotlessly clean , the breakfast has a very good range of different food available excellently prepared and set out , the whole hotel has a relaxed atmosphere , fifteen of us stayed for four nights and loved it , Metz is a lovely city .

Hotel is promising and the staff were friendly. We were unfortunately woken twice by fire alarms. The old fashioned heating system also creaks and makes a huge amount of noise. Shower limited to handheld over bath rather than a stand up.

The hotel was outstanding in every way .The staff were extremely attentive, nothing to much trouble . The location marvellous and the hotel bedroom suits immaculate with everything one bbedsneeded.

The location was great and easy access to everything. I knew coming into it that this was a budget property, but I wasn't counting on the walls being paper thin! I could hear the cleaning happening down the hall, doors closing, and people talking. Made for a really not relaxing stay.

Great location in the centre of the old city. Rooms are good size, modern, and clean. Friendly staff. Special thanks to Thibault for his attentive service, and for being patient with me practicing my french.

The hotel is in a great location for seeing the old city of Metz. The area has pedestrian walkways and many outside cafes. The hotel is quite old. If it’s warm weather the rooms are hot. Breakfast is good.

Well-situated at the heart of Metz. We had a pleasant, quiet room on the 3rd floor. It's a 2-minute walk from public parking near the cathedral - you can't park outside the hotel.

Ok, but definitely not luxury. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Location is perfect for the center of the city and very close to the Covered Market and the Cathedral. Parking, however, is a 10-15 minute walk. No parking at the hotel itself. Overnight parking at the Téatre Coméde (Uris) underground parking cost 14.80 Euros.

Nice clean room, finally a comfortable bed with a not too thick cushen. Room was clean, bathroom clean as well, but there was a sewer smell so you had to close the bathroom at night to keep that smell out. Shower was not that good. Shower floor moved up and down. And given the space in the bathroom the shower could have been 10cm wider in both directions. Location was excellent, no outside noise while in the middle of town. For parking, go to Republique Parking for a discount. When I arrived, nobody was at the front office desk. There was no bell to ring. I walked in to the restaurant, kitchen - nobody. Finally I called the hotel phone number and then a minute later somebody came. A strange welcome this is.

Hotel is situated in the centre of Metz not far from a selection of good quality restraunts and bars. Plenty of shops in area with a farmers market on a saturday morning. My double room was on the small side with tiny bathroom facilities. The room was also very hot with no air conditioning, luckily I was able to open a window.

Grand Hotel Metz
The Grand Hotel Metz is an older hotel in the center of Metz located on a pedestrian street, but still accessible by car for drop off. The look and feel of the property speaks of a different era, but it is a completely adequate, no frills hotel located in the heart of Metz within easy walking distance to restaurants, cafes, shopping and must-see Metz Cathedral.

Hotel in pedestrian area so nearest car park about 600M away - far enough in the pouring rain!!! Hotel needs updating. The room have paper-thin walls and you can hear everything going on next door. No bar, no restaurant but staff extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel is well signposted, which it needs to be as it is in a pedestrian area. You press a button to make a bollard retract into the ground. Once there, the staff parked the car for us and were very helpful and friendly. All spoke English if needed. Comfortable room, good breakfast. Would go again.

Great Location but a little tired
The hotel is situated where its difficult to park since the streets are closed off. It wasn't clearly explained how to get there or where to park to walk there. It was a major hassle. Once you've guessed and parked, then walk around the old town to find the place, then go back to your car for your things everything is fine. The hotel itself is old and tired but a facelift has made it nice enough. I'd recommend paying more and staying in the outskirts of the old town.
