Lake Yellowstone Hotel and Cabins
10/10 Excellent
"For a historic property that is the oldest in Yellowstone National Park, this hotel is impressively maintained. The setting on the shore of Yellowstone Lake is outstanding. We enjoyed having dinner in the Sun Bar while the sun was setting over the beautiful lake. Breakfast the next morning in the Dining Room was great. We stayed here for only 1 night on the second day of a 3-day, 2-night trip from our base in Big Sky, MT. We had taken time to drive the incredible Beartooth Scenic Highway west to east and then stay in Red Lodge for 1 night. The next day, we drove through Cody (where we spent most of the day at the superb Buffalo Bill Center of the West) to re-enter the NP and then spend a night at this hotel. The location of the hotel fit our needs perfectly since we wanted to be in the park to spend an entire day touring Yellowstone Lake, Fishing Bridge, Canyon, and West Thumb. Staff members here are friendly, helpful and efficient."
Jackson Lake Lodge
8/10 Good
"there were swarms of winged ants in the bathroom"
Hatchet Resort
8/10 Good
"Room was clean but 3 different rooms had to use the same bathroom in the hostel house. Definitely go grab food at the dinner next door for breakfast and the steakhouse next to it is definitely worth the stop try the specialty Mule it was amazing! The 14oz steak was delicious as well and cooked to perfection. Will definitely stop for a bite next time we are in the area."
Colter Bay Village
8/10 Good
"The property was overall clean except it was a bit old. There was no WiFi or telephone so you need to drive back to the front desk for anything you may need."
Heart 6 Ranch
8/10 Good
"The outer glass in a double paned window in our room was broken, the blinds barely work and the walls between rooms are super thin. Other than that, good place to stay at."
Grand Targhee Resort
8/10 Good
"Resort is older, however clean. The front office staff and restaurant staff were amazing!! At Snorkles it seemed that their conversation was more important than the clients. Had a croissant that seemed like it was a week old. Amenities were the pool...from 12 to don't know but we were unable to use it. Everything was so quiet. Shut down before 9"
Buffalo Valley Ranch
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and as a cool extra we managed to watch the horse run out not long after we got there. Only thing that could use some work are the showers, they could do with being updated a bit."
Moose Meadows, a haven of wildlife, beside Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks.
8/10 Good
"Property was clean, no TV in living area, otherwise it was a decent place"
Beautiful Moran Home with spectacular Teton Views
10/10 Excellent
"We had an amazing time at this property. The host was very gracious and forthcoming and quick to respond to any question that I had. We enjoyed going into the town of Jackson, thoroughly enjoyed Whitewater rafting, the younger ones and I enjoyed a scenic trip on the snake river. Make sure you make reservations at the Gun BARREL and Local in town and also Turpin Meadows Ranch which de-wrangle’s the horses every day at 5:30. You can follow that up with a five star meal of locally sourced meat and produce, and it’s only 20 minutes away. If you are interested in fishing, we rented a boat a fishing boat for the day at Colter Bay for 300 and all five of the kids went . They loved it, and stayed out there all day. The hike at Jenny Lake was amazing. There is another hike at Colter Bay to Huron Lake? I believe that was awesome, but they shut down some of it because there was a mama grizzly with her Cubs in the area. The house provided bear spray, which we took, but thankfully did not need and graciously left for Future guests. Another issue we had coming from the east was the dry air. My solution was to fill the crockpot with water and put it on high for about 5 to 6 hours a day that seemed to help a little bit. Great trip!!!"
