Third visit!
Our third stay at this hotel. We love it for the location within easy reach of the centre of Montpellier. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Can't comment on the food as we always eat out (plenty of choice). Only negative would be the carpet on the stairs and hallways is looking a bit tired and dirty, but the rooms are always comfortable and clean.

We like this hotel
We liked the hotel. It has a great position and the building is very old and interesting. The hotel does need some new carpets in the common areas. The Cathedral which is behind the hotel is so lovely and the bells are a treat, especially at Vespers/Evensong. Also the huge trees are wonderful. We've stayed there a number of times and will stay again.

We loved our stay at Hotel Le Guilhem. Such a gem, quaint rooms, fabulous location, lovely view and delightful staff. Ours was a last minute booking and we were so happy. Taking the tram from the train station was almost door to door. Lucas at the front desk was charming and extremely helpful. Our room had everything we needed, water, lovely soap, fluffy towels, etc. there was a lift for our heavy suitcases too! Everything is walkable from the hotel. We only wish we had stayed longer.

Super location for the weekend
A weekend visit to explore the restaurants and life in Montpellier. Hotel was welcoming and explained all we needed to know. The hotel is in the old town and within about 15 mins walk of anywhere within it. A very good location for the purpose of our visit, it is surrounded by little streets with lovely picturesque squares , all with cafes and restaurants galore .

The staff are lovely and very helpful. The hotel itself is in desperate need of a refurb, and all extremely shabby. The carpets especially on staircase are filthy from traffic and threadbare. Even the towels although clean were practically threadbare. Although well situated, the car park is a public one down the road (a bit of a squeeze) and a good 5 minute walk away. You cannot access the hotel by car. Would not stay here again. Montpellier is a lovely old city

Great historic building in the old Montpellier. Walking distance to many shops, restaurants and sites. Breakfast spread was awesome, super quiet rooms. Can't recommend enough!

Great but bad internet.
Great room at the back, quiet with a superb view over the Cathedral. Excellent location. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were poor. Likewise the bathroom needs an update. Fortunately my stay was brief as the internet connection was useless - forced to use mobile data instead.

Lovely large, light room overlooking garden and cathedral. Clean and comfortable. Warm welcome at reception for us and our dog, very helpful regarding parking and visiting the city. We hope to go back.

Overall, I liked this hotel a lot. This does not feel like a Best Western, but like a Medieval flat... I liked the charm, with a gorgeous view of the Cathedral. Definitely, a convenient and picturesque location in the old city center. The rooms are quite spacious. What I did not like was that the refrigerator was broken. It was fixed in two days.

Property was fine for a historic hotel. Zero Wi-Fi. This Wi-Fi issue would have been a deal breaker had we known in advance that there was weak signal and outdated security standards.

Professional but friendly reception, room was nicely sized and clean with a comfortable bed. The style is a little dated nowadays, but you get what you pay for and the room matched what I saw on the pics beforehand. Slight issue with them asking for payment when I had already pre-paid through Expedia, but I showed them my email receipt and all was fine. Wouldn't hesitate to book again, there's also a fantastic restaurant just across the street - Umami - La cinquième saveur!

Location location location.
We stay at this hotel every time we are in Montpellier. It is spotlessly clean and the location is excellent. The staff are lovely and the price is very reasonable. Some rooms have a superb view of the church. Keep expectations reasonable and you won’t be disappointed.

Above and beyond in a historical setting.
The view of the cathedral was amazing.Our staff spoke English and could not do enough for us.They offer a discounted parking rate at the garage a few blocks away.When the automated system failed to give me change and an exit ticket , Yohan came down to help me and sort it to...above and beyond!!

Great location and terrace
The hotel has a Perfect location for visiting the city. The street is quite, but there are a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby. The terrace for breakfast is wonderful!!

Great staff service. The heating in the room was not working on day 1. I notified the staff and a temporary solution resolve the problem for day 2. The heating problem was resolved for day 3+4..

We stay here every time we go to Montpellier. The location is superb, the staff is lovely, the decor quaintly French (which we love) Much prefer that to modern stark nothingness. Very reasonably priced and parking is available at a reduced rate nearby.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone-business, personal etc. Super Clean with the utmost of service. Without a doubt, the BEST service I've ever received in a hotel in France-including much more expensive bigger chains. They really care. Room was spotless everyday. Helpful with where and how to get to places. Everything is walkable-very convenient I had so much work and they set up me in the restaurant when it was closed so it would be more comfortable. Room was not small as most french rooms-enough room. I am definitely going back there!

Very cool, quaint hotel in the middle of the city. The building itself is from the 16 century. Rooms are nice and beds fairly comfortable. Staff is excellent. Walkable for any part of the downtown area. There is a great bakery right outside the door and several restaurants on the street itself.

Good location in old town
Realy good location in old town. Really quiet room overlooking cathedral and garden, Uneven floors as you expect in an old house but kind of added to the charm. Breakfast simple but good quality served in nice room. Note that taxis will drop you 100m away down a steep hill. Lovely boulangerie and good restaurants on same street.

Our second stay at this hotel, didn't hesitate on booking it again. Staff are helpful and friendly, beds very comfortable and its convenient for the city centre. We don't use it for eating so can't comment (There's a very good bar down the road that does great croissants and coffee for breakfast and is great for people watching).

Lovely hotel in the historic centre
This was the second time we stayed in this hotel. Perfectly situated to explore the historic centre of Montpellier. Lots of good restaurants and bars within a short walk. The room was clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view of the cathedral. Staff are polite and helpful. We will be staying again.
