The Hotel Wayne is truly a historic hotel, having been in continuous operation since 1827,Of course it is dated as we strive hard to maintain its true historic character .But we provide all modern services and conveniences.And we do have an active restaurant on the ground floor which really is never noisy.,

Some people just do not understand that we strive hard ot maintain the historic character of the Hotel Wayne, which has been in continuous operation since 1827.Yes....there is some very minor sloping of some floors.....but after almost 200 years is it very normal as wood shrinks with time.And our carpets are all clean and nice but selected to showcase our historic character.

The Hotel Wayne is a truly historic Hotel, having been in continuous operation since 1827, almost 200 years.It was built before there was indoor plumbing...so all the bathrooms were added more than 100 years ago. So they were added where they could.We try very hard to maintain the historic character and the history of the Hotel.As for the carpet, we try hard to maintain the character of the rooms. The carpet was an old style which fits in. But is always kept clean.The heading says the Hotel is in Bethany, PA...that is incorrect.Most people appreciate staying in a truly historic hotel especially one that provides modern amenities and servicesIt seems this guest did not!!!!

We would very much appreciate that if a guest did not like our hotel, that they tell us what they did not like.

This review is TOTALLY FALSE.This guest checked in and went to the room. They immediately came to the front desk and said the room was "not satisfactory". We asked why and they did not give us any answer.They requested a refund which we declined as they had already checked in.Then they said that if we don't give them a refund they would write a bad review which clearly was totally false,None of what they say is true, including what they paid for the room. This is what happens when a guest arrives the day of check in and says that their travel plans have changed and want a full refund. Our policy is that we accept cancellations with a full refund up to the day before the reservationThe review is simply not true.We maintain a clean and sanitary facility to accommodate our guests in a very comfortable way.

This review is totally untrue.This person came into our bar visibly intoxicated. The bartender refused to serve him.He then went out to our outdoor serving area which is the porch at which point he visibly lit up a marijuana cigarette very near to other guests who were seated there.We asked him to leave which he did after a while.

This review is very confusing. The review says that the air-conditioner does not work but then in the same sentence said the shades blocked the air flow.One thing we will take issue is about our WiFi.It is very powerful and fast and we never get a complaint about it.Our bedding is changed very often. To some people it is a personal preference.

This simply is not true.This "guest" was a person who did not show up for their reservation. We do accept cancellations up to the day before the stay. This person never even attempted to cancel so was charged.They called and threatened to write a bad review if we did not refund the money, which we did not.So they wrote this fake review.

Some people simply do not understand that staying in a historic hotel is to some degree, different than a modern hotel.We do provide all the services and amenities as a modern hotel.Out Hotel and restaurant are fully staffed. We don't understand that comment.

We would appreciate that if some guest had an issue that we are told about it.That way we can satisfy the guest's concerns.

We are very sorry you had this problem.What happened was the water company that supplies us was having a supply problem which has since been repaired.

This review is simply NOT TRUE!!!The guests arrived for check-in and said that their plans changed and asked to cancel with no charge for the room.We explained our policy is that we will cancel without charge up to 24 hour hours before.They said OK that they will stay and occupy the room.Then they went to the room and came right back and said the room was not acceptable to them.Then they left.

The problem with some of our showers is that our water has a lot of minerals in it and sometimes leave some minor stains on the shower floors. We do remove it from time to time but sometimes builds up quickly;

This review is hard to believe. This guest had a 2 night reservation and told us they had to leave the morning after the first night. We refunded them for the second night as a matter of courtesy even though it was after our normal cancellation time for that night.Then they wanted a refund for the night they stayed which we did not offer.We provided them we a comfortable room and there was no reason to give a refund.

We are sorry about the noise. But it all came from outside.Our lovely town of Honesdale has a celebration of our founding and history once a year and that was the night of the festive celebration.

The Hotel Wayne is truly a historic Hotel having been in continuous operation since 1827, almost 200 years.Most of our guest truly appreciate the opportunity to stay in a truly historic hotel but I guess this one did not.It is true that we do not have any guest rooms on the first floor. We identify that clearly on our website and in all communications.As far as maintenance, we maintain the highest standards which includes regular painting. It is hard to imagine a guest who complains about that.Our restaurant is very successful and offers a wide variety of dishes to accommodate all our guests. We get consistent excellent reviews and our guests are always very satisfied.
