Beautiful Hotel- Close to Fisherman's Wharf

Posted 03-May-2016
Pros: Very clean and nice hote!!
Cons: The noise level from outside in the rooms.
Location: Located right next to the wharf and several restaurants! Easy to get around! Everything is in walking distance close-by!
Beautiful hotel that has been recently renovated. Very comfortable bed and overall it felt clean! Plus, you get warm chocolate chip cookies upon arrival! Yum! I was thrilled with everything until we got in bed. The noise from outside is horrific. I literally felt like our windows were wide open because we could hear people walking outside and every bit of their conversation. This went on all night and into the morning. Very disappointing. They've got to get better windows or do something about the noise level. The hotel is located close to a very popular area of Monterey, which is amazing, but the noise is awful.

Nice hotel, walking distance to the wharf.

Posted 27-Apr-2016
Pros: I loved the location near so many restaurants, shopping, and the wharves. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
Cons: Including the parking garage fees with the room rates, or charging considerably less for the hotel guests.
Location: Restaurants, shops, Fishermen's Wharf, whale watching excursions. The spa here.
The first room assigned to us faced the pounding noise and sight and probable dust of the tearing down of the nearby building part. No rooms facing that side would be pleasant to stay in. Also, the overhead fan in the room rattled. The second room was as advertised and much better, thank you.

The hotel was a last-minute find and we were pleasantly surprised. The facilities are under construction so there was a little noise on the weekdays… But other than that no complaints. The location is perfect right by the pier and many shops restaurants within walking distance.

Currently under construction

Great hotel and beautiful spa but the fact that that there is only 1 pedicure chair is extremely disappointing and misleading for a 'resort and spa' . There is also a huge amount of construction and renovations being done on the facility that should have mentioned on expedia at booking.

Great home base to explore the Bay Area!

Posted 21-Apr-2016
Pros: Lots of little 5 star touches and a very friendly and helpful staff.
Location: Location was very central for exploring Sausalito, walking distance to everything. Beautiful view of the water. Just feet from the ferry to San Fran.
The hotel was very nice and served as a perfect location to explore cute, slower paced Sausalito while also being very convenient to the ferry or the Golden Gate bridge into the big city! They provided breakfast vouchers each morning to the cute little cafe next door. Walking distance to lots of good restaurants. Amazing setting on the water!

Good location. Walk to restaurants

Posted 19-Apr-2016
I thought the staff was excellent. The bed was super comfy. Air quality in the room was awful. I had an allergy migraine within an hour. May have been dust under the furniture or the old carpet, or old air filters. I don't usually react that way in hotel rooms, so something wasn't clean. We were in the building that wasn't connected to the main lobby and restaurants, so it was really inconvenient to get the bags over to the bell desk. All night people downstairs from bars walking by were waking us up with their loud drunk voices. It was a bummer because my husband really need to rest after tax season 100 work weeks. Unfortunately it was not as I had read in all the other reviews and I felt the price was high for the quality. Julie

Nice hotel near the wharf and the old town

Posted 08-Apr-2016
Pros: Location, cleanness, comfort
Cons: Breakfast options
Location: Most attraction is in walkable distance
Rally like the location of this hotel, which is close to the old town, wharf and the cannery road. I mean a walking distance. The staff where amazing and very helpful, they changed my room twice at check in till I found the room I liked. The hotel is very clean and the room is comfortable. Just one thing was a disappointment which was the breakfast they had only a set buffet and no breakfast menu. Will stay again on my next trip for sure.

the best location in Monterey!

Posted 08-Apr-2016
my wife and I have visited Monterey on a few occasions. by far, the portola is the best location we have found. walking distance to both downtown and fisherman's wharf. the best in dining and nightlife. we had a harbor view room, which I hlghly recommend. everything about our experience was positive. we will be back!
