Nice hotel close to the beach

Excellent staff. Nice room. Walking distance to the beach. Food consisted only of waffles, toast, cereal, fruits, coffee and orange juice.

Hotel is in a beautiful location, clean, OK

Posted 29-Nov-2016
Pros: It's close to the beach and the representative at the front was welcoming and nice. Micky was sweet.
Location: Lovers point is beautiful!
The hotel wasn't what we expected, but we managed. The TV was so far from the bed that we ended up using a laptop to watch a movie before bed. The room was clean... Oh I requested a queen size bed and ended up with a full size! My boyfriend is pretty tall and built so I pretty much ended up on the edge of the bed a couple of times... also, it was close to the parking so we heard EVERYTHING early in the morning.

Very nice hotel near the beach

Great experience. Juliana is simply the best front desk manager we have met during this trip, far better than those who work in the five stars resort hotel. We have started to plan our next trip to be back!

Great views from the third floor

Posted 14-Nov-2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Not much.
This hotel is located right across the street from Lover's Point and beach access. The rooms are clean and nice sized. The third floor has great views of the ocean, the second floor has good views. I would definitely recommend this place. The Manager, I believer her name was Joanna, was friendly and informative. The breakfast wasn't awesome, but with so many great restaurants in the area, why eat in the hotel lobby? There was a small fridge and microwave in the room as well.

Bed is sooo comfortable!

Posted 02-Nov-2016
Loved that Monterey Bay was right there and could take a walk right along the path with the awesome view first thing in the morning. I went with 2 girlfriends and we had a great catch up visit. We all commented the beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. Continental breakfast in the morning! Careful of the house Sea Gull! I brought my plate outside to sit at the table to eat and turned to talk to friends and he swooped in for my toast and peanut butter! Everyone had a good laugh.

Great location

Posted 18-Oct-2016
Pros: The location was great.
Cons: Can be stuffy with no AC
Location: Bike, walk, kayak, explore Monterey, taste wine, go see the Mazda raceway at Laguna Seca.
Loved being close to the ocean, bike/kayak rentals and the coastal trail. The hotel is basic, but clean, with friendly and accommodating staff. You need to be ok with no AC. We would stay here again.

Will not go back

Posted 18-Oct-2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Accommodations, cleanness.
Location: Very close to the ocean and sightseeing.
The location is good, a few steps from the ocean and beach. View to the ocean is very limited, there is another hotel across the street blocking the view. Room has minimal accommodations ( for the same price I have been to much better hotels in the Bay Area) carpet very old and not too clean, bathroom very small, jets in jet tub have not been properly cleaned. Shower was the only choice, tub didn't drain properly. Bed was comfortable but I could see the dust on the mirror while lying on bed. Not a very enjoyable experience. Since I booked through Expedia the account was paid in full in advance, due to a family emergency had to come home one day earlier than expected and management of Lovers Point Inn would not issue a credit for that one day, very impolite and borderline rude. For my experience I would not recommend this hotel. One more detail, parking is an issue, the few outdoor parking spaces get taken very quickly and the garage below the building is not easy to maneuver, it is narrow and only one row of parking spaces, there is only one entrance and exit. Turning around to exit is difficult when all the parking spaces are taken and there is no room to maneuver your car.

Started out wonderful, ended very badly.

Posted 03-Oct-2016
Pros: The staff outside of Neil were great and very nice. We were reimbursed for our bad night and the staff were very apologetic.
Cons: Maybe "Neil" shouldn't be "Best Friends" with the owners. I do not expect to call the Police while on vacation against a hotel to keep my child safe.
Originally had booked 6 nights and having a great stay...but on night 3 I asked the night manager Neil if we could move to another room because when we came back in from dinner our room was getting marijuana smoke through the wall door, Neil's response was to "just open the windows and door, and it will air out", not what I want to do at 9:30-10:00 pm with a tired toddler. I told him that we cannot have a toddler exposed to pot smoke and to at least come upstairs and smell the room. Neil told me that it was NOT a priority to him "he was busy and that he could NOT tell people to stop smoking pot", he told us that the entire hotel was booked, refused to switch us, began to shuffle papers and ignore me, while walking out the door I told him that he needed to take this seriously or that I would need to call the Police, when I told him this I had pointed my finger and he went ballistic starting throwing things and cussed me and started yelling to people sitting outside that I was threatening him, so I called the Police. While waiting for the Police outside 40' from the office Neil approached me twice, got in my face and told me that he was "best friends" with the owners and that my complaints would go nowhere. Neil told us that we could leave the hotel. When the Police arrived they arranged a room for us, and the next morning at 7:00 am we noticed at least 4 rooms vacant with made beds and more on different floors, even though Neil had told the Police that the hotel was booked.
