On the golf course

Posted 25-Apr-2016
It took 20 minutes to check in, 2 people working desk, people lined up, other guests just stepping in to ask questions, finally third person who knew something about their duties came off break, I can only guess, and started to whittle the line down. Our room was somewhat clean, dust thick on lamp shades and baseboards, tile in bathroom! I expect much more from Hyatt. The screen door didn't work. The bugs in the bathroom were disgusting. The mattress sloped down on the sides felt like I was going to fall. A portable air conditioner was ridiculous, when moved a bit to get air directed towards bed the vent hose fell off. A little bit of a challenge to reattach! Unit was loud, never really cooled the room, The view was great! The Sports Bar was the only restaurant we tried the selections were limited. Food was ok. My hubby liked his hot dog it was large and very different.

Excellent hotel

Posted 24-Apr-2016
This is my best hotel experience ever booked on Expedia. great deal! I did not anticipate I can stay in such gorgeous hotel with so low price. Everything looks new. Nice lobby and the best thing is it located by a golf court. I'll definitely come back again. Maybe will try golf as well next time.

you can the pin drop

Posted 22-Apr-2016
Pros: Quick check in.
The room was poorly sound proof. You can hear the pin drop from the next room, room above you etc. Could not have a comfortable sleep at all. Not enough parking space either. Had to wait for the next available parking spot. I would not come back here ever, I needed a better sleep environments in order to drive while I am traveling. Very disappointed,

Nice hotel off the main drag

Posted 20-Apr-2016
Pros: Quiet & shower size
Cons: better soap & shampoo. I would have expected a bath gel.
Location: walking on the beach, exploring restaurants
The hotel provides a much more quieter experience than being right in the middle of canary row. Of course that means you need to drive to restaurants & activities. I didn't get the chance to play golf, but the course looked nicely kept. The room had an interesting device that I think is meant to keep the humidity in check. I loved the shower but needs better soap & shampoo.

Wouldn't stay again

Posted 20-Apr-2016
The hotel is more like a motel. Rooms are far from The lobby and there are at least five buildings. After checking in we were told where to park our car and then we had to carry our own luggage from the parking lot to one elevator, up to the second floor and then walk through two more buildings to get to our room. Holding open all those doors was challenging with our luggage . When we questioned an employee, he was less than enthusiastic about helping. The lobby and breakfast buffet was very nice. I wouldn't bother with the walk away breakfast in the lobby . The egg and cheese on an English muffin was very rubbery and the coffee was the usual Starbucks in pump yourself carafes. Try a different hotel as this is not your usual Hyatt Regency.

Beautiful hotel nestled among forest

Posted 18-Apr-2016
Pros: Relaxing, forest cabin-like ambiance. Very clean and comfortable.
Cons: Chlorination of whirlpool/hot tub. TOO strong!! Almost felt unsafe.
Location: Minutes away from Monterey, Pacific Grove, cannery row...if none of that interests you, just a walk along any beaches and be amazed by the atmosphere.
Throughly pleasing hotel right off the freeway, but in a private forest setting. Every aspect of the hotel was above expectations, however the whirlpool/swimming pool leaves a bit to be desired. The whirlpool was so over-chlorinated that we coughed and couldn't open our eyes/smelled like bleach. That was a small detail in an overall wonderful stay. Comfortable, modern rooms, beautiful lobby, easy to navigate. Would definitely stay again!

Nice grounds, disappointing room

Posted 17-Apr-2016
Pros: Landscaping, pools, hot tub, service, and location.
Cons: Shower pressure, the overall room (for a four star hotel) would have been nice for a three star.
The hyatt has really nice grounds, well maintained. Location is good, a quick drive to many places. The rooms were a bit disappointing. I believe they are remodeling them, the dresser was beat up @ the bottom (chipped pretty badly). The strike plate on the front door was barely secured, etc. The room is also small. To their credit, it appears they are in the process of remodeling (the floor below us was being remodeled). The worst part is the water pressure in the shower. It's just above dripping. Also, there is no shower door, just a glass panel that covers half of the shower area, which I thought was really odd. Guest services were great. We ate breakfast one morning there and found the buffet overpriced ($22) for what you got. I didn't go to the sports bar, but it looked cool.
