Suite was very nice!

Posted 22-Mar-2017
Location: Not a far drive from the Aquarium and othere attractions in Monterey, but the immediate area was run down.
Very nice staff and that made last minute accomadations for us. The suite was very spacious, clean, and updated. The a average free breakfast was very convenient. The hotel itself was very nice for a good price. The only down side was the area in which the hotel is in is quite run down and surrounded by apartments and old neighborhoods. Not an area I'd like to take a walk in especially with kids.

Hidden treasure just minutes away from Cannery Row

Posted 21-Mar-2017
Cozy hotel tucked away from the stress of Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf. Great room with no sense of being cramped with a refrigerator, MW and coffee maker. The included breakfast really hit the spot and was kept fully stocked. We will be back.

Small but Nice

Posted 18-Mar-2017
Location: The hotel is only a few minutes from the Monterey Aquarium and it is very easy to get from the hotel to the aquarium and all of the shops by the beach
The hotel is very nice but rather small. The parking lot is very small and most of the spaces are for compact cars. The breakfast was good but the eating area was very small. We had to shuffle around a lot to let others though to get food and to sit down but it was not unpleasant. We only stayed for one night while passing through Monterey but an extended stay might get tiresome with the close quarters.

Dear Laura, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We appreciate every feedback that will allow us to improve ourselves. We agree that we need to work on more seating spaces for breakfast which we hope to be able to provide very soon. We are truly close to the Aquarium and every De Anza guest who buys their Aquarium tickets from us will have 2 days of entry instead of 1 for the same price. Thanks again and we hope to see you back very soon. Warm Regards

Really nice hotel

Posted 12-Mar-2017
Pros: Great building in excellent condition, really clean, comfortable beds, large room, amazing complimentary breakfast, lots of parking spaces.
Cons: Bedroom heating system is bad. There is no A/C (not reqd early March), and the heating system has ineffective temp control (you roast or freeze)
Location: A couple of restaurants are nearby, take your car for everything else
Hotel is easy to find and is close to several restaurants.

Weekend Getaway with the kids

Posted 28-Feb-2017
The breakfast was ok. Microwave breakfast sandwiches, cereal, juice, waffles (if they had more than 1 waffle maker that would be helpful). The waffle machine wasn't working very well. We asked for spray for the waffle maker she said there was none. Said she would clean it. Never did. Eating space is way too small.Hotel not in the best area especially if your traveling with kids. The hotel was not horrible but wasn't anything to brag about either. Desk staff was very nice.

It was close to the beach 💗

Posted 26-Feb-2017
It was a nice weekend to spend with my family in the hotel room. Although, it was a little not fun to not have the WiFi service in the room and even in the hotel lobby I had to login every time the id and password.

Great hotel, very good for big families

Posted 26-Feb-2017
Pros: Our room was great
Cons: Nothing that I could see.
Location: Close to food, easy drive to beach and shopping.
The staff where great, our room was like a mini suite which did have a connecting room if needed, so as I said earlier great for bigger families or groups. They do have many of these type of rooms. Pool and hot tub looked super. Loved the fish pond in the lobby.

Thins walls - but comfortable accommodations

Posted 13-Feb-2017
Pros: rooms are pretty good sized.
Cons: definitely need to improve the breakfast to allow for healthy and fresh balanced meals.
The room is plenty big - included microwave and small refrigerator which was very nice. Prices are reasonable for Monterey - location is decent. Front desk consistently very nice. did not have a great sleep because she darn walls are so thin - heard every word from the neighbor. :( Always a concern when you are on vacation and want some rest! The breakfast is really bad though. Choices are instant oatmeal or sugared cereals. Hardboiled eggs or microwaveable egg/sausage biscuit. A limited choice of small yogurts - but hey - if you like calories - you can make yourself a waffle. Not great - not up to the "standard" of holiday inn express - but of course neither of them are great. I'd skip the breakfast at the motel and head out for a real breakfast.
