Nice Hotel, friendly staff!, comfortable beds

Posted 29-Aug-2015
Cons: There are not enough tables for breakfast - and it's in the lobby
Location: Do whale watching at Moss Landing - it's a great experience - especially there!
Pool a bit too small but well temperatured. Staff was very friendly and helped us with every questions we had. Enjoyed the stay, car is helpful when you want to go the Wharf or Cannery Road. There are nice restaurants nearby.

Too loud and hot if you are looking to sleep

Posted 24-Aug-2015
I would never reccomend this hotel to anyone. If you do decide to book a room here, make sure it's in the back of the hotel. They put me in #217 which literally hangs over the highway and was so loud I couldn't sleep. There is no a/c at the entire hotel and the room was hot. #217 did have a ceiling fan but it's nowhere near the bed and it was noisy as well. After checking in late I called the front desk to request a room change but no one answered. Absolutely not worth the $200 a night they charged me last weekend. Price gouging at its finest.

Ok hotel centrally located

Posted 20-Aug-2015
Ok hotel centrally located to make it easy to visit different attractions. Breakfast, room and staff very nice but too noisy. There is no A/C, which is not a problem but you cannot open windows for air at night or during the day because of the road noise and other guests voices with their windows open. I would not stay here again. We had a room in the front of the hotel. Maybe back is better. Don't know.

Pros: The rooms were nice and spacious but it is next to road where the noise is very high due to the road.
It was very nice and staff was very kind. But our room was on highway side and since there is no air conditioning we had to close the windows because the noise from the road was so loud it woke us up early.

Pros: The staff were lovely and very helpful
Cons: Updating, cleaning, modernising, painting etc
Location: Handy for the Nike discount store !
Arrived to be met by lovely staff and that's where the lovely ended. The rooms we had booked for our family were in different blocks and tops floors. Each room was dark and dingy and smelt of stale coffee. A a lot of steps to negotiate with heavy luggage (we were travelling for a few weeks). Everything was very dated and the air conditioning was impossible to leave on because of the noise. We stayed in 11 different kinds of accommodations over a three week period and this is the only one we would NOT recommend. Breakfast was OK but there was not enough seating at the time we went.
Comment from Hotel Management

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments, however, I believe you may have confused our property with another. We are a small inside corridor property with an elevator and do not have air conditioning.

Very nice place. Would suggest an air conditioner for the room.

Worked for me

Nice hotel in a quiet location about 10 minutes from Cannery Row. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was standard waffles and stuff, with the addition of breakfast sandwiches. Did the trick for me.

Pros: almost everything
Cons: air conditioning
Location: great to have CVS local, we also had child not feeling so well, and that was great. We saw many options as far as food, gas, even supermarket.
Overall It was a good experience, just surprised that there was no air conditioning and the rooms were very warm. Addressed issue with front desk who offered us a fan and to open window because it was unusual warm weather for Monterrey. We did and enjoyed our time considering the warmth. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Pleasantly surprised

Posted 06-Jul-2015
Our room was huge....window placement was for a nice breeze. Remember most motels/hotels DO NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING in Monterey... The owners obviously had pride of ownership; constantly updating. I'm picky where we stay. Location wasn't great...hard to find; make sure you take North Fremont...we took Fremont and had a difficult time. This hotel is closer to seaside than Monterey.Dennys right next door....we would stay there again.

Disappointed with location and room

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Reception staff on arrival very helpful.
Cons: I explained I was disappointed with the room on checking out; the receptionist was very unconcerned that I had a complaint.
Location: Location not very good for Monterey
Reception staff on arrival excellent very helpful. The room was small, very noisy not the standard I would expect for BW.
