Nice but noisy

Posted 16-Oct-2017
Location: Mall across the street includes P.F. Chang's and Whole Foods.
We were welcomed by friendly staff and a clean, stylish room with a very comfortable bed. However, we discovered as the evening progressed that we would be privy to every footstep, door slam, and bathroom encounter in the building. With no carpets in hallways or individual rooms, sound carries. Little details of torn drapery liners and missing tiles in the hot tub also affected our overall impression of the facility. However, we would be willing to stay there again or recommend to others.

Generally very good except for a pair of socks left in one of the drawers and it wasn't cleaned up before we got there. Easy access from highway. Not sure what else to say. Still have no more to say.

Horrible noisy dirty hotel

Posted 09-Oct-2017
By far the worst hotel experience of my life. Loud party lasted till 11:30, followed by drunks outside the hotel until 3:00 am. Staff was rude when I called in for a pillow. Saw a rat in the parking lot. Crib service was suppose to be provided, received a dusty filthy play pen instead. In room fridge leaked water all over the floor the whole stay.

TV not working

Posted 30-Sep-2017
My mother spent a week here while my dad was in the hospital. There was a wonderful woman who assisted us on check-in as my mom had never stayed alone in a hotel. However, the entire week my mother was there, the TV did not work properly; no sound. We asked to have it fixed daily for four days in a row, no resolution. For $156 a night, you'd expect to be able to have an operational TV.

Pretty views from our room. Close to dining.

Posted 28-Sep-2017
Pros: expedia price was very good. Easy to get to our room from parking lot. Comfortable beds. Very clean.
Cons: Dinner in the adjoining restaurant was not so great. Wouldn't eat there again.
Location: All of Monterey is a fun place to be. So many places to eat and shop, and the ocean views are gorgeous.
Would liked to have been closer to beach area, but learned our way around town pretty well.

Great hotel! Room was really clean and bed was really comfortable. AC was also excellent! Great night of sleep for someone traveling up the coast.

Good location and value

Posted 13-Sep-2017
Pros: views, value
Cons: TV channel selection
Staff was very accommodating during the checkin. Going above and beyond to match our preference for the location of the room. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. Hotel is close to the highway but fairly quiet, nice outdoor shopping mall and whole foods within walking distance. Good views of the Monterey bay for around $100 - great value - will be back again!

Knock knock

Posted 12-Sep-2017
The door to our room would move with the wind and sound like someone knocks on it. Had to close door over a towel and place blanket in front of it.

First impression disappointing

Posted 11-Sep-2017
Pros: 1. The front desk person was workable, nice and gave us a better room after we complained. 2. Bed was soft and decent. Some room was roomy 400sf
Cons: 1.Lots of renovation needed!Something was wrong or broken with each room we looked at. 2.Value Expedia customer same as other customer
Location: It's a coastal town near Pebble Beach, Carmel, Big Sur, and Monterey. It's popular vacation destination for shopping, restaurant, sight seeing, golfing
Within the same price category of other motel, this fell short in comparison. It's an old motel that needs work done. This area is usually are higher priced because of the location attractions. However, it is highly competitive as well and most motel/hotel focus on customer service and cleanliness. This place needed a lot of work with repairs and renovations. The two rooms we viewed had something wrong with it. It had windows broken, was noisy because it's next to highway 1, not fully clean, and with bugs in the room and spider web on one corner because of broken window that was not fix. The room was really tiny. The room should not have been rented. We complained and they gave us another room that was better and bigger but that room still also needed repairs in the bathroom. The second room was 1 king bed standard as the first room. Changing the room was a hassle not needed had they checked the room. We lost some time in the inconvenience. It puts a damper on the vacation from the start. You want to feel like you are on a vacation and that you have a clean, functioning room, not having to trouble shoot problem. If you want a "motel customer service experience" and do not mind the inconvenience, then the motel may suffice. Finally, Expedia customers do not receive the same level of customer service as other customers. In our experience with this region and with booking within the same price category motel, there are better places than here. I hope they can improve in the future.
