My visit

Posted 16-Jan-2016
The room was very clean and fresh. The toilet had a leak so the floor was wet in the bathroom. I threw towels on the floor to help stop the leak. :(

Misleading

Posted 08-Jan-2016
Pros: Aside from leaky toilet, it was clean.
Cons: Breakfast, Location, Atmosphere, Service
Location: It's a short drive from Monterey
We'd stayed at other branches of this chain before and it was good value. This one was not. It had a leaky toilet and was very noisy. It advertised that it had a continental breakfast. One morning the lobby was locked--so no breakfast then. The attendant gave no explanation or apology but said come back the next morning. The next morning there was no coffee, no fruit, no cereal. There was a wafflemaker with no syrup or butter, and orange juice. That's it. Really, this is dishonest.

Keep away if you want quietness

Cons: breakfast
It is an average hotel. But since it is right along the street, you get lots of noise even at night. The internet is ok. Breakfast was not good. Considering its low price, maybe it is average.

ok motel

Cons: The staff, maybe don't be so paranoid, not ALL GUESTS are there to cause trouble.
Location: Monterey Aquarium, Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, Beaches, beautful area
The motel was very clean outside, rooms were clean too. The bed was very hard, didn't sleep well and alot of loud yelling going on outside from other guests. The breakfast was orange juice & waffles,no coffee, was told to use coffee maker in our rooms. But no plates or utensils available, used a tray & napkins for the waffles & was able to find spoons to eat it with. Every time we ran into the manager/owner, he would asked us our room #, like as if we were squatting on his property. I took me 15 mins to get through on the phone to the front desk to inquire about late check out, finally when he answered, there was a fee of $10.00 for 1 hour extra late check out, I refused it, so we were leaving our room about 11:59 and there he was walking our way and asking us what room? and checking out? and please can I have your room keys? OMG really!! it's not the most welcoming staff or atmosphere, but for the price.....it's ok to just sleep & go

Cons: Breakfast was a bit weak. Besides coffee in the room only orange juice and sweet bun in the morning .
Nice hotel. Close to grocery stores and fast food restaurants. Very spaciest room.

This motel was recommended by an agent at Hotels.com. When we got there the carpet was filthy, I immediately asked for another room. This room was fairly clean, but the smell of cleaning products was overwhelming. We had to open all the windows and leave them open and it was late October. We would have left but it was late at night and we had traveled all day, but couldn't wait to leave.

Rude, Locked Us out of Room before check-out Time

Posted 06-Oct-2015 on Hotels
The room was nice, but the service was terrible. In the morning, we were getting ready to leave. Checkout was at 11. I went down to the lobby a little before 10 to see if there was any breakfast left. There was coffee but no milk, so I waited (a long time) for the owner to have a conversation with someone, just to ask if I could have a little milk for my coffee. He bruskly told me that breakfast was over and noted that I'd better check out on time. Right at that moment, someone came in who spoke only Spanish. The owner didn't speak Spanish, so I helped translate. Finally, I went back to my room. Now I'd just spent 20 minutes waiting to find out I couldn't have milk in my coffee, and helping translate for the guy. My teenager, of course, took forever in the shower. So I had to hurry. We were carrying things to the car at 10:45, and when we got back to the room at 10:50 to grab our final load, the lock had already been activated and our key no longer worked. I was livid. So we had to track the guy down to let us in to get the rest of our stuff. Ridiculous!
