Magical stay
I only stayed for one night, but I wished I stayed longer. It’s such a nice hotel. The location is perfect, and the view from our room was amazing. We slept with the window open, listening to the sounds of the waves. Breakfast choices were limited, but it was good. We had dinner there also, it was excellent, and the dessert was the best part of it

The hotel staff was very nice however upon leaving in early am there was no one at the front desk at approx 7 am. A young guy was standing and I asked for help with my suitcase because there is no elevator. He kept pretending he knew no English but I kept pointing to my suitcase and gesturing downward like help. He understood but kept pretending he didn’t. When there was staff at the desk they were helpful. The room wasn’t great. You could hear water in the pipes constantly even while sleeping so not great.

Excellent location!! Beach on one side of the hotel, and old town (with shopping, food, bars, etc within 2 min walk) on the other side. Friendly, helpful staff. Decent breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Clean, comfortable but simple rooms - a/c worked well. Chairs/umbrellas at the beach were half off for hotel guests. Definitely recommend!

I would love to go back!
The hotel was in the most beautiful location in the old town, I highly recommend anyone to go. We had to pay to park off site but it was only a 3/4 min walk. It was safe and easy. The hotel room was modern and clean! Friendly staff and beautiful food What more could you want..

The hotel is very beautiful. The breakfast is limited for each guest (we need to pay extra to butter for exemple). The private beach doesn’t mean we have the right to the sun bed. If we would like to enjoy the beach we need to pay like the other beaches. They retain your passport at the check in (it’s quite strange).

This by far the best location in the heart of the old city of Budva! Hotel reception was very helpful, made us feel at home like we were the only guests staying in the hotel. Housekeeping staff was amazing, our room was always clean especially when we returned from our many excursions. The breakfast offered at the hotel was very tasty, a lot of choices and the restaurant cooks and wait staff were excellent. When we return to Budva again (and we will) we will only consider Astoria Hotel Budva! Please thank all who work there on our behalf!

We loved the vicinity and having breakfast by the sea every morning. The hotel was lovely just a bit tired and dated in some aspects of the room but clean and we were very lucky to get a room with a seaview. We would have liked tea and coffee making facilities but they did give us a kettle on request. We woukd recommend Budvva out of season, delightful little town, beautiful country, charming people. Thank you Montenegro.

Overall everything was good besides the bathtub, it literally had seaweed and old dirty stains, like if someone had urinated on it and was never cleaned! There were also mosquitoes inside the room. Other then that everything was good, front desk was very pleasant and helpful, very professional!

The hotel has a great location within the city walls and multiple restaurants to choose from, including one directly on the beach. I would have given it a higher rating except for the fact that my dad’s hotel room door was broken so he couldn’t close it. The front desk forgot to tell us about it upon check in (apparently there was a trick to getting it to close), so my dad had a stressful evening unable to close the door. He let me know in the morning and when I notified the front desk, they were unsympathetic and blamed him for not letting the front desk know as they could have fixed it. We paid a lot to stay at the property and were not only not compensated for this unpleasant experience and safety risk, they exacerbated the situation by blaming my father for not letting them know.

I only appreciate the breakfast, the are rich. The price is too for such a room (small compared to other hotels in Montenegro), one of the table lamp and keycard are not working. I did not use the beach as I don't they should charge hotel guest for chairs and umbrella . I ate dinner at the restaurant, quality ok, but they charged 1Euro just for the paper mat, I think it is ridiculous for a so called 4~star. For this high price , I think there are many other better choices.

Love the location and that the hotel includes breakfast in 3 locations including a terrace overlooking the sea. GREAT staff! So friendly and wanting to please. Nice beach area just steps from hotel. Hotel restaurants offered good food at reasonable price. Comfy, clean and quiet room. Liked everything so much we stayed an extra two nights. Highly recommend!

Absolute beautiful setting in the walled town. Great music at bar. Stunning views for breakfast in beach. Breakfast is great too! Room was fine, no view but hardly in anyway. Clean and comfy also great value! Only negative was morning waiters but miserable and very slow. Would defo return. Lady in reception very helpful and lovely.

Hotel Astoria Budva was excellent! They allowed us to check in early, and helped us make accommodations for our vehicle, as they have no on-site parking, but they have a connection with a parking lot close by for discounted rates. The room was spacious and quiet. They held our luggage post checkout in the morning so that we could continue to enjoy the beach. The only thing keeping this from being a perfect rating was that the bed was very uncomfortable.

Terrible stay The bed is uncomfortable, the A/C makes loud noises and doesn't even cool the room, they have a weird way of offering breakfast. The only good thing is the staff and location. Other than that it is horrible. Oh yeah the electricity even went off during our stay. Don't go there.

Amazing location, but expensive parking.
Great location, good breakfast...even better bc it was free! Modern and updated. Parking was expensive. Overall the highlight was the location. Right in the old town walls, on the beach with a terrific view. The terrace for dinner was nice and the sea bass was some of the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely stay again if I was to ever go back to Montenegro (but I won’t).

Very good location in old town. They subsidize your parking so it is 15 euros a day, so that’s at least helpful. The free breakfast is very good. Rooms are clean. The shower is weird but ok. The beach is beautiful, but not really a beach. It’s about 100 meters of pebbles and sea trash with people standing shoulder to shoulder. Euro pop music plays throughout the day, but it’s quieter at night. Don’t pay extra for a “view”.

Hotel Astoria has an awesome location right in Stari Grad part of Budva and it is right on the beach. The staff is very nice as well. However, the location in Stari Grad is also its disadvantage-- many of the rooms only have windows facing walls. The rooms are quiet and clean though. As long as you do not plan to spend much time in your room, it is a fine trade-off for the location and the knowledge of staying in an old, historic part of town.

Don't be deceived by the hotel marketing adds.
We were allured by the hotel site and pamphlet which boasted a boutique hotel, blah, blah, blah... it couldn't be more dissapointing, as the hotel has no charm at all. The rooms are ordinary standard, far away from what one expect from a "boutique hotel". Staying in the room 204, we were disturbed by the noise of the moving of tables and chairs coming from a restaurant above, which staff is very gross as well. The breakfast isn't served in the hotel, causing misunderstandings with the waiters from the venues where the guest is send. The bathrrom hasn't a normal shower and no hangers. The air conditioner does not t refrigerate well the room. The twin beds are extremely narrow - maybe to fit inside the minuscule room. On two occasions we tried to reach the manager, but in vain. He wasn't present at the hotel neither at 9:15 AM nor at 5:15 PM. To finalyze the rate is way to high for what the hotel offers.

Worst beds, broken AC, over priced joke
The location is decent, the rooms are big and garishly decorated (Purple crushed velvet furniture? Really? Hi, 1990!). It's like a picture of gaudy new money, with zero class for the price tag. Stay somewhere else. This hotel was so unhelpful- our AC was broken, but at least they gave us a fan after I asked for it. They did not give us a discount for this after we slept so poorly in the hot stuffy room. A real hotel with class would've offered us something. Also, the wonderful rooftop terrace is NOT open to enjoy, it's only open for dinner :( The bed was small and horrible cheap mattress- I could feel the coils poking me through it! It's like they garbage picked it. I'd expect that at a flea bag hotel, but not one that charges 195 Euros a night! The public beach is right next to their "private" beach, so just skip this horrible overpriced place, stay somewhere cheaper and use the public beach, which is less rocky and nicer anyhow. However, the free breakfast was quite good, and the waiter was very nice. It was nice to eat near the beach. The bathroom shower was very awkward to use, and sprayed water everywhere, or you had to be huddled in the corner of the tub to get a decent shower. All fake bravado, no class.

Nice hotel with beach access
Spacious rooms & large bathrooms with great water pressure. We stayed in room 106 which had a double bed and a single bed with lots of light. There is no elevator so pack light. There is no street access to the fort/hotel in old town so walk toward the sign Hotel Avala and yield left and down the stairs & walk toward the Astoria Hotel canopy. Walk through the doorway and the door to the hotel is on your immediate right across from the caffe Mozart smoothie fruit juice place. Wifi is ok. On the beach wifi is best in the row nearest the cafe. If you want waterfront chaise lounges get there by 8:30 to reserve them.

Great location, don't stay if you want aircon
This hotel should be great. The reception staff were great but management was awful and completely unwilling to resolve any issues. I paid for a nice hotel, the aircon never worked and neither did the spa bath. For 5 days there were no chairs available at yhe beach. What was unacceptable is never remedying any issue. We are sorry its hot, yet no offer to move rooms or offer compensation. It was so hot and stuffy at night you couldnt sleep and it wasnt even peak summer. Nothing was done, they didnt seen to care about the problem or their customers. I stayed over a week and there was zero attempt to fix. Didnt get what paid for in terms of facilities or service. Disappointing.

Budva, the old city
Like Kotor, Budva is an amazing place where you feel the history coming to meet you, if you are at the hotel Astoria, inside the old town, you will feel like you came back at the feudal time. A beautiful place to see. Like I wrote for Kotor, in Montenegro the parking for a car look like a luxury. For less than 24 hours, I had to pay 35 euros in a municipality parking. For my point of view it's stealing money from the tourist.
