Rubbish hotel definitely not 4 stars! 2 stars at best! Breakfast was terrible they had a Spanish omelette out on the hot counter looked nice and was only thing that looked edible! it was ice cold in middle had to microwave to heat it but it was horrible day two wasn’t any so just had toast. The chef can’t even cook eggs he makes one side and leaves the raw on a plate and when asked a question to actually cook and egg he was rude!! The room was crap booked a quadruple room paid full price for 4 and got a double bed and a pull out bed for our stay in a double room!!! We had a baby and asked where the kettle was in our room they offered us a kettle for €2.50 rental I actually thought it was a joke but it’s seriously a charge. The only plus it is near the Port Adventura but definitely not worth the money there may be better in salon that offers a shuttle bus to the park. I couldn’t recommend this place at all only If stuck and for heavens sake don’t even bother adding breakfast if have to book its disgusting

Very nice hotel in a quieter area of Salou. A 10 minute walk to the beach. Staff were lovely and more than helpful. Nice pool with a spa as well. Entertainment provided for the children. Breakfast buffet not so bad either.

The location made it super easy for us to walk to PortAventura within minutes, also to the beach and town centre. Family friendly and good facilities. The breakfast lacks fruits, they offer a lot of fried items but very little in the healthy side.

Excellent location for PortAventura and the Beach.
For the price we paid to stay for a week you couldn’t fault it. Hospitality staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It’s location to both PortAventura and the beach also make it ideal, 10 minutes from both. Rooms although basic were more than adequate, maybe modernising them should be a priority for the future.

Nice hotel close to Port Aventura Park. Very clean. Breakfast not great and beds not the most comfortable but all was ok for 3 nights.

Not a place to relax
The stay started badly with the attitude of the receptionist (Natasha) being very aggressive and even losing her temper as she booked us in. She had no patience and did not understand we were tired after a long drive. This hotel is for families and is therefore very noisy and busy. The rest of the staff were very good and helpfull. It is on the outskirts and a good walk to the centre. There is secure underground parking but we were stuck inside because the system for letting us out failed. The bedrooms were very noisy with the loudest banging doors I have ever heard. Not good first thing in the morning. Food was good but very noisy in the restaurant. Not a place for couples and not for us.

Very nice hotel, all the staff are friendly and helpful, the pool bar staff are the nicest by far, only down side was the food in the restaurant at dinner was vile and luke warm, everything else was perfect

Everything was fine except a lot of children running up and down the corridor in the evening, making quite a lot of noise. Buffet was fine but only open Friday and Saturday. The gym facilities are poor and only open 5-8 pm.

Family holiday in Salou
Great location to both Port Aventura and main pedestrian area with restaurants and shops. As a family of 7 we were given 4 rooms next to each other which was great and we asked for quiet rooms which were overlooking Port Aventura rather than a pool area so they were nice and quiet. Outside area was very nice with a huge pool, pool bar and many sun loungers. Food was ok, sometimes hot, sometimes barely warm but with different dishes every day which was great as we had HB and in many hotels, including 4 and 5* we found food very repetitive. Rooms very spacious and service at the desk and during food service was pretty good. Out of all 4* hotels we stayed in, Sol Costa Daurada seems bit basic and outdated but we found it much handier than for example Dorada Palace in which we stayed few times. Overall if one does not expect luxury, I would recommend the hotel as it's nice enough and very handy. Also you can buy Port Aventura tickets at the reception at the same price as on the website (for example when bought in the hotel, 3 day 3 parks adult ticket was €76.50, where at the park it was €95, like for like)

Great hotel, have stayed here twice previously. However some staff in the restaurant during this stay were quite rude and abrupt. Plates for dinner not very clean. Bedrooms, communal areas and pool clean. Good location and reception staff very friendly and helpful as are bar staff.

Great hotel for Port Aventura!
We enjoyed the hotel. It was the perfect location for Port Aventura. The beach was also walking distance. Everywhere was kept very clean. The food was good- they cater to a lot of nationalities and there was lots of choice. The food was always hot and presented well. The only slight negative was that our air conditioning didn’t work. They sent someone to check who said he would get an engineer to fix it the next day. When I checked the next day reception said they didn’t know why we had been promised this as all the air conditioning was off this time of year (it was hot though!!) Overall this was a lovely hotel and we’d stay again.

Great location for Port Aventura parks
Staff are friendly and helpful, location for beach is about 15 mins walk away as is Port Aventura. There's a rep in reception most mornings if you haven't pre-booked. Rooms are ok and clean, restaurant food was ok with plenty of selection. I thought there could have been more local/Spanish options. Taxi is a standard price, both ways and worht it for 4 or more people.

The restaurant staff and chef were excellent at arranging and providing for my gluten free diet. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who is coeliac. Thank you for making our stay so easy.

Hotel was OK but too remote from town with not enough entertainment to make up for being so far away. Childrens paddling pool is right next to the deep end of the main pool with no barrier. Children's playground was very small and out of site round the back of hotel, its fenced but climable and was next to main road so have to be very careful with the kids. Hotel staff were very nice, no fault there. Only entertainment (with the exception of one night) was a kids entertainer who did the same routine each night. It was out of season but still thought there would be more going on as hotel was still very busy.

Everything was ok with the room. Clean comfortable, and spacious. It had a shower, bidet, bath, balcony and air-con. All the staff were really nice. Our only caution was dinner, it may have been a bad day. Dried up, hard, over salted, rubbery potatoe salad. I saw tables had plates stacked up and a lot of wasted food. Ok it was a buffet and you could help yourself to anything but we really felt it wasn’t worth €15 + drinks each many people getting water. Breakfast was better but with people using bowls for coffee there was a wait just to eat cerial, having to keep looking for a bowl.

Room was very clean and functional. Beds were comfortable and even the sofa bed had a nice and comfortable mattress. Fridge was empty which is great for filing up with your own food and drinks. Location is very convenient for Portaventura which is 15 minutes walk away. Also convenient for the beech and high Street area. We were half board, both breakfast and dinner were good. We would have preferred more vegetarian options however. Overall a nice place to stay.

Ideal location to Portaventura Theme park
Great location to theme park 15 min walk could see rollercoaster from room. Slightly further from beech but still walkable we like walking so suited us. Is about 30 min walk away if you taking your time. Great for families, good entertainment for the kids they loved it! Food wasn't the best for the kids, anything covered in breadcrumbs avoid! Chicken nuggets full of grissle, not real meat fish nuggets the same. Kids struggled to eat while there we were half board. Ideal to rest after theme park.

Not a 4* by any stretch of the imagination
This is just not a 4* hotel. There is an overwhelming feeling of cost-cutting and profit maximisation taking precedence over guest satisfaction The rooms are clean, but very basic: watered down shampoo attached to the wall, beds that are so flimsy they slide across the floor, and no kettle in sight (seriously?). A safe was present but not usable, as it was just the shell with the lock removed. The breakfast buffet was fairly extensive, but all made with cheap, low-quality ingredients throughout. The orange juice was the worst I've ever had at a breakfast buffet, watered down beyond recognition. The indoor pool and spa area (a reason we chose this hotel) demands that you wear a swimming cap, however you must buy a non-refundable 3 Euro swimming cap to enter - a cost which is nowhere to be seen on the hotels.com description at time of booking. It is not the extra cost itself that annoyed me, but rather the underhand attempt to squeeze extra money out of guests, rather than being upfront with these additional costs; had I known, I would have brought a swim cap, or chosen another hotel. The staff did not ask how our stay was upon check-out, presumably because they know the place isn't up to scratch. If you want an easy stay within walk of PortAventura for 1 or 2 nights, this will suffice (we had rooms on the front with a great view from the balcony of the park) but this place is not fit for any other purpose. How it achieves a 4* rating is beyond me.
