Pros: Clean, well presented, lots of free coffee and tea making facilities in communal areas! Fantastic staff.
Expensive bar (£5 pretty much every drink, even spirits/beers!) set menu so restricted to £25 but buffet/self serve so could fill your boots! Bar might serve snack food but didn't check.
I chose this hotel mainly for its location, as it is an easy drive to Leatherhead where I needed to be the next morning, and has free parking and free Wifi. The reviews I read seemed very mixed so I wasn't sure what to expect. I had an overall good experience. The room was spacious and comfortable. The windows open to let in fresh air. My room was at the back overlooking the car park and so there was no road noise. There isn't any air conditioning, and a small fan was provided so I imagine the room could be too warm in hot weather, but while I was there I found it very comfortable and quiet and didn't use the fan. The shower worked well and there was tea and coffee with a choice of whole or semiskimmed milk. I stayed on a Sunday so the restaurant wasn't open, but I had a delicious freshly made butternut squash soup and a sandwich in the bar that were well served and suited me. I couldn't get a signal for my phone in my room, but did connect in the bar. I thought the accommodation was value for money.
Nice hotel, in a good position for most local venues. Outdoor pool was nice as were the grounds.
The room we stayed in was a garden room, had everything we needed.
3 of the 4 nights of our stay there was a wedding or event on. This stopped around 11 so wasn't a problem.
I've stayed here on several occasions as it is close to family in the Dorking area, but it is really the only decent choice. It is in a great location, being right in the middle of Dorking, and the restaurants and train stations are an easy walk away. The rooms do vary a bit in size and quality though - those in the main building are older and smaller for example.
We stayed one night in a double room upstairs at the back. Reception staff and evening bar staff were very accomodating, helpful and friendly. Rooms were a standard hotel size and the bed was comfortable. The room and the en-suite bathroom (shower, no bath) was clean and had everything we needed. We didn't have much of a view, but this wasn't an issue for us, and the room was quiet.
We ate in the bar in the evening and the food was plentiful, well-cooked and good value for money (fish and chips and gourmet burger). The choice of beers was a bit limited for our tastes.
The breakfast was a bit disappointing. There was a very limited buffet breakfast (a few cereal choices, a few flavours of fruit yoghurt, a few small croissants, no toast/bread, cheese, meats etc. and the fruit bowl had grapefruit and a few apples, but no bananas, no berries). We had the cooked breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast and smoked salmon and the smoked salmon wasn't very good.

The Inn on the Green is a find old coaching inn found in the beautiful Surrey countryside - far enough from towns and cities to provide relaxing, stress-free accommodation, fine real ales and highly recommended food. As a place to get away for a long weekend or short break I highly recommend it. I will be going back there.
