Michelle and Randy really know how to make their guests feel at home. From check in to check out they never miss a beat. They have coffee and a bowl full of snacks welcoming their guests, and after a long travel day it’s nice to have a little something. The house is very cozy, comfortable beds, and nice size kitchen which is stocked with all the pots and pans/dishes I needed to make a home cooked dinner for my starving college student! Michelle is very quick in responding to any questions we may have had and checked in with us the day we arrived. We stayed in October and the house was decorated for Halloween which made us feel at home. This was our second time we have stayed and it was better than the first!! We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas at this amazing lake front estate. The buildings and property are truly one of a kind. Our accommodations were roomy and comfortable. There were all the necessary tools in the kitchen to prepare family meals and a fire in the fireplace gave it a nice feel. A larger dinning table would be a nice addition. The best thing in the guest suite, where we stayed, were the amazing views overlooking the lake, especially at sunrise and sunset. Although we did not use the porch much because of the chilly temps, it must be an amazing place to relax during the warmer months. The pool area was beautiful and we took full advantage of the area as we were the only guests around. The pool itself was a bit brisk but warm enough to enjoy after the initial shock. The hot tub and sauna were perfect but the bathroom/shower areas are in need of a good cleaning. As there is no direct access from the guest suite to the pool, it is a little chilly walking back and forth outside. We enjoyed many walks around the property with our dogs and were able to get some wonderful photos. The property staff were friendly and informative and the location is easily accessible from the New London Sub Base. The reason I am only giving it four rather than five stars is due to some of the maintenance issues. The property recently changed hands and is in need of some more work to get it up to the standards that a $500 night home demands. (ex. leaves everywhere, outdoor furniture scattered about, television and fireplace not working in pool house, lights going off and on without reason, curtains in bedrooms) That being said, there was work being done through out our stay and I'm sure it is just a matter of time till everything is up to par. …We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas at this amazing lake front estate.
