The breakfast was good, but got a little tiring after our nine day stay there. A little more variety would be nice. The king size bed was firm, just the way we like it. The room was just right for my husband and me - not too small or not too big. We had a short walk to breakfast in the next building. There was always a parking spot for us when we returned at the end of the day. The flowers, trees and bushes were in bloom & very nice.

"Nice hotel, but disappointed in Expedia service."
Nice hotel. BUT Expedia person who took my reservation did not tell me breakfast was NOT included. I was shocked when I was handed a bill for breakfast. Desk clerk told me expedia was supposed to give me a choice of breakfast included or not. It was not mentioned to me by Expedia person. Also, desk clerk did not give a receipt when I checked out, said Expedia would email it to me. I got nothing from them.
I killed 3 pincher bugs and 1 spider. Not cool. However, the staff was top notch. They gave me a free nights comp that doesn't expire. It's because of the staff that I'm even interested in using my free room comp.
Staff members were very friendly and helpful to event the smallest details. The bed they couldn't help. It was not a firm bed. Tossing or turning would bounce the entire king bed from one end to the other. It was not restful. The room was quiet. The breakfast was a real breakfast, not mere donuts and treats. Eggs, hash browns, bacon sausage, pastry, cereals, fruit juices, etc.
While this was our 1st stay at Ayres Hotel Laguna Woods, it was our 5th stay at an Ayres hotel.
The Ayres Hotel Laguna Woods is very much like the others. It is very clean. quiet, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast at this particular Ayres Hotel was better than others we have stayed at.
We also noted that the beds are very confortable. We recommend the Ayres Hotel Laguna Woods if you need a hotel in that area.
Pocket Guide: Orange County Mission Viejo - South Orange County Hotels
About halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego, Mission Viejo's dramatic landscape--it sits in the Saddleback Mountain Valley-- was sparsely settled until the 1960s, when it became one of the largest (and most successful) planned communities in America. Mainly residential, Mission Viejo retains its heritage with many Spanish mission-style homes.
