the best location!

Posted 23-Mar-2017
Pros: location
Cons: bathroom, tv, WiFi
Location: I used the very fast train from Central Station in five-minutes walking distance to go to Venice, and Rome. It was a wonderful experience.
it is so close to Central Station, in walking distance with Buenos Aires st. a very popular shopping site. If you are as lucky as I was, you would be there in Saturday Bazar in less than 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. The staff are kind and helpful. The breakfast is reasonable and they exchange your money in the safe and calm of the lobby.

Great hotel in perfect location

Posted 18-Feb-2017
Pros: Excellent bed, bathroom hardware, housekeeping, soundproofing, breakfast, one block from main station, Linate shuttle and Metro, grocery store nearby
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The "sights" of Milan are in the center: cathedral, museums, opera, nice places for coffee and meals, all reached within a few minutes by Metro.
In Milan I find easy access to and from the main station, the Linate airport shuttle and the excellent Metro network indispensable. The Michelangelo has all of this, and adds all of the comforts and pleasantries any good hotel should provide, starting with a five-star buffet breakfast. I didn't use the bar or restaurant but they look very nice. Milan is an important, under-rated city, and the Michelangelo is the hotel I will return to when I come back.

Many Better Choices Available

Posted 26-Jan-2017
Pros: Location is great! Very close to transportation, shopping, dining. Rooms have amazing views of Milan skyline.
Cons: WiFi, Furnishings/Beds, Room Service
Location: Located right next to Milano Centrale, the subway and railways are at your fingertips. Plenty of shopping and dining options as well!
I was disappointed by my stay at the Michaelangelo. Firstly, I always submit reviews when I stay at a hotel for 3 plus nights, and they are almost always very positive. The hotel is older, the amenities are dated, and the W-Fi is ridiculous for 2017. In order to access WiFi you must have your TV turned on. Mine consistently lost signal, so much so that I needed to change rooms at one point. My laptop would not connect...period. I was able to use my phone and tablet, but there seem to be so many simpler ways to provide internet access for guests now a days. The staff are nice enough, but not always responsive to problems. The room service is among the most expensive I have ever seen. The traditional club sandwich will kick you back 20+ euros with the delivery fee, and it's up, up and away from there. It's unfortunate, because I imagine the hotel loses out having such a high cost menu. I stayed for 6 nights and never utilized room service, If prices were more in line with expectations, I may have certainly used it a few times. The chamber maids were hit and miss. Although the ones I had interaction with were quite nice, one day after being out of town all day I came back to an unrefreshed room. A shame after a long day out to have to make your own bed, and discard your own trash. The beds and pillows are HORRIBLE. Both rock hard...enough said. Location is great, but not enough to overcome it's shortcomings.

Great Location + Stylish Design

Posted 23-Jan-2017
Pros: I like the very smart 1970's modern Milanese design - in the architecture, interior public spaces, and bedroom details.
Cons: The old incandescent light bulbs have been replaced with those cold LED lights, which gives a bluish look to the room instead of choosing the warm one
Location: Right across from the spectacular Central Station.
Stayed for over one week. Very comfortable and quiet.
